FAQ

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator: physics, ragdolls and pure chaos

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, or just TABS, is a physics-based battle sim from Swedish studio Landfall. The idea is brilliantly simple: you build two armies from a wild roster of fighters, hit start and watch them clash in a battle where every warrior is a ragdoll driven by physics. Legs buckle, spears fly skyward, and a club-swinging giant launches half the enemy infantry into orbit. This isn't a serious strategy about balance and micro โ€” it's a spectacle, and half the fun is that you can never quite predict how it ends.

What the game is and why it hooks you

At its core TABS runs on goofy, gloriously unfair physics. Units don't play canned hit animations โ€” they actually shove, stumble and topple onto each other. You place your fighters on the battlefield in an editor, spending a limited budget, then run the simulation to see whether your plan holds up. Sometimes a thin line of archers shreds a wall of knights, and sometimes a single mammoth decides everything. That unpredictability turns every battle into a tiny story you genuinely want to watch unfold.

Factions and units

The game packs dozens of fighters split into themed factions: ancient tribes, vikings, knights, the Wild West, Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, the Renaissance, legendary heroes and some truly unhinged secret units. Each warrior costs a set number of points, and that's where the sandbox strategy lives:

  • cheap infantry wins by numbers but crumbles to the first charge;
  • archers and throwers dominate at range but are helpless in a melee;
  • heavy giant units smash through formations but cost a fortune;
  • special and legendary fighters like towering heroes can swing a fight on their own.

Beyond the campaign with its increasingly absurd levels, there's a sandbox where you pit any armies against each other, and a unit creator that lets you build your own ridiculous warriors.

Multiplayer and modes

The full version of TABS, which left Early Access on April 1, 2021, added online and local multiplayer along with achievements. Now you don't just watch simulations solo โ€” you can field armies against a friend, on one screen or over the network. Campaigns, the sandbox, custom unit creation and online battles together deliver the endlessly replayable chaos the game is loved for.

What exactly you're buying

Here you're getting the full version of Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, and we deliver it as a Steam gift straight to your account. Once activated, the game stays in your Steam library forever โ€” it's your copy, not temporary access. No subscriptions, no time limits, no region-locked rental: buy it once, accept the gift, and the game is yours to keep across every future update.

How delivery works

The handover is built to be effortless. At checkout you provide your Steam friend invite link and your account region. Our bot then adds itself to your friends, sends the gift, and automatically leaves your friends list once it's delivered โ€” no need to accept anything manually. The whole process usually takes just a couple of minutes from the moment you order. Important: Steam Guard is not required to receive the gift, but your account region must match the gift region, and the game must not already be in your library โ€” otherwise Steam won't let you accept it.

If something goes wrong

The most common snag is a private profile that blocks friend requests, or an expired invite link. If the bot couldn't add you, check your Steam privacy settings and send a fresh link โ€” we'll retry delivery. Hiccups in services like this are rare, and we work to sort them out quickly.

If you like the genre

If you love absurd physics and Landfall games, check out the battle royale Totally Accurate Battlegrounds from the same studio and the chaotic brawler-platformer Stick Fight: The Game. And for fresh co-op madness from Landfall, drop into Content Warning.

Totally Accurate Battle Simulator is a chaos construction kit that's equally fun to zone out with solo or to throw absurd battles with friends. Grab the gift, assemble your army of mammoths and suicidal toasters, and see what happens.
