Where the first game was a claustrophobic corridor nightmare, the sequel loosens the leash: Union is a set of semi-open districts you can sneak through, explore houses, scavenge resources and decide whether to fight or slip past. The story is personal and emotional: a father who lost everything and will walk through hell for his child.

This listing is the base version of The Evil Within 2 — the complete game, with the full story campaign from start to credits. You don't need to buy anything extra to finish it: unlike the first game, the sequel never received separate story DLC. The only add-on back in the day was the pre-order Last Chance Pack (a starter weapon and supplies), but that was a temporary pre-order bonus rather than a separate paid DLC, and it has no effect on completing the game.

In Union every bullet counts, so the game constantly pushes you to plan ahead. You craft traps and consumables from scavenged junk, upgrade Sebastian at the Marrow — branches for stealth, health, recovery and combat power — and pick your own style: quietly pick enemies off from cover, or go loud when there's nowhere left to run. Bosses here aren't just bullet sponges but distinct nightmares with their own logic, each demanding a different approach. That freedom and constant tension are exactly why The Evil Within 2 is still loved years after release.
