Remnant II โ a co-op soulslike where every run is different
Remnant II is a third-person shooter with demanding soulslike combat, built by Gunfire Games. It launched on July 25, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The series' signature trick is procedural generation: worlds, dungeons, events and even bosses are reshuffled from run to run, so your second or third playthrough shows you things the first one never did. Buying a key from us gets you the global Steam version: place the order, grab the activation code and add the game to your library.
What kind of game it is
You play a survivor stepping through portals between ruined worlds corrupted by the Root. Unlike the first game, the focus here is on Archetypes โ classes with their own abilities and playstyle, from a gun-slinging Hunter to a summoner, a turret-toting Engineer and more. You can pair two Archetypes for hybrid builds, while weapons, mods, mutators and traits let you fine-tune your character. The bosses are a highlight: huge, multi-phase fights with mechanics you have to read. Play solo or in co-op for up to three players.
Standard or Deluxe โ which to pick
There are two full editions in the catalog, and both contain the complete game:
- Standard Edition โ the plain base Remnant II. Everything you need to clear the campaign and dive into endless adventure mode is already here.
- Deluxe Edition โ the same game plus an early unlock of three armor sets from the first game, Remnant: From the Ashes. It's cosmetic: it doesn't touch difficulty, balance or story, just a nice wardrobe boost if you like looking sharp from minute one.
If you're unsure, grab Standard and skip paying for cosmetics; if you want to flaunt armor from the previous game right away, Deluxe is your pick.
DLC: The Awakened King and The Forgotten Kingdom
Beyond the editions, we carry two story expansions. Important: these are DLC, not a standalone game โ they require Remnant II (any edition) already installed.
- The Awakened King (released November 14, 2023) โ the first premium expansion. It revisits the realm of Losomn in an altered state: the awakened One True King goes to war, adding a new archetype, weapons, armor, bosses and an area to explore.
- The Forgotten Kingdom (released April 23, 2024) โ the second expansion. It opens a forgotten chapter of Yaesha with a new summoner archetype, fresh enemies, loot and a new story arc.
A third expansion, The Dark Horizon (September 24, 2024), later added the Warden archetype and a third storyline for the world of N'Erud โ collect the full set and there's plenty to chew through.
How to activate the key on Steam
It's straightforward. After payment you receive a code. Open Steam, click "Add a Game" in the bottom-left corner โ "Activate a Product on Steam", enter the key โ and the game or DLC lands in your library. The key is global, so your account region doesn't matter: it activates worldwide. For DLC, install Remnant II first, otherwise Steam will accept the key but there'll be nothing to launch the expansion on.
Archetypes and builds โ why people love it
The heart of Remnant II is its Archetype system. You pick a primary class and slot a second one for its abilities, creating hybrid builds โ a healer-gunslinger, say, or an engineer with a turret and a summon. Each archetype levels separately and grants perks, skills and passives, while weapons can be enhanced with mods and mutators. On top of that come traits, rings, amulets and relics โ there's so much room to experiment that two players with the same start end up with completely different characters by the finale. That's exactly why the game replays so well: swap your archetype pairing and familiar bosses demand a fresh approach.
Who it's for
Remnant II clicks with players who love tough co-op sessions, replayability and build experiments. If you enjoy the mix of gunplay, soulslike survival and loot, and you're tired of identical runs, this is your kind of game. Genre fans should also look at the first entry, Remnant: From the Ashes, the co-op mining chaos of Deep Rock Galactic, and for a benchmark single-player soulslike, Elden Ring.
Quick answers
The key is global โ no region workarounds needed. Standard and Deluxe include the base game, the DLC do not. Three-player co-op is supported. On Steam Deck the game runs via Proton โ check the compatibility status on the Steam page before buying. If anything is unclear about a specific edition, read the note under each item on this page.
