Prey — Arkane's space immersive sim that refuses to hold your hand
The 2017 Prey is a reimagining of the name by Arkane Studios (the same team behind Dishonored), released on May 5, 2017 under Bethesda. You play as Morgan Yu aboard the orbital station Talos I, where a science experiment went badly wrong: the station is overrun by the Typhon, an alien lifeform that can disguise itself as anything from a medkit to a chair. There's no single correct path here. Push through with a shotgun, hack a turret and turn it on your enemies, or morph into a coffee mug and roll through a gap no human could fit. Buying a key from us gets you a Steam activation code: enter it and Prey (or the edition with its add-on) lands in your library for good.
What each edition includes
We carry three options, and it's worth not mixing them up, because they cover different needs:
- Prey (Standard) — the full base game. The entire Talos I story, every ability, every ending. If you just want Morgan Yu's story, this is enough.
- Prey: Mooncrash — this is an add-on, not a standalone game. It adds a roguelite mode: the TranStar lunar base, five different characters, procedurally shuffled threats, and a run that plays out differently every time. The Mooncrash key requires the base Prey already installed on the same account — without it the add-on simply won't launch.
- Prey: Digital Deluxe — the most complete bundle: the base game + Mooncrash + the Typhon Hunter multiplayer mode (asymmetric multiplayer where one Morgan player hunts five mimics disguised as objects). All in a single key. If you're buying Prey for the first time and want all the content at once, this is your pick.
Why Mooncrash isn't a "sequel" but a completely different rhythm
Base Prey is a slow, thoughtful survival-horror immersive sim about exploring one big station. Mooncrash takes the same combat and stealth mechanics and drops them into a roguelite: you run laps through the lunar base, die, start over — but the world is reshuffled with different enemies, different loot, different breakdowns. It turns the familiar system into a tense "escape in one run" puzzle. Many fans rank Mooncrash among the best roguelites precisely because deep immersive-sim mechanics work so well in short, high-pressure runs.
Typhon, neuromods and your playstyle
The heart of Prey is the neuromods you use to upgrade Morgan. You can go down the "human" branch (hacking, repair, strength, gunplay), or inject yourself with the Typhon's own powers: mimicry, kinetic blast, ignition, turning into objects. But there's a catch — the more alien you become, the more warily the station's systems react to you. This freedom is what makes Prey a genre classic: two different playthroughs barely resemble each other, and the replayability here is genuine, not just on paper.
Regional keys: ASIA, CIS, LATAM, MENA
Our Prey keys are regional. That means the code is tied to a region: ASIA, CIS, LATAM or MENA. It's best to activate with a Steam account in the matching region. The CIS region covers Russia and the CIS countries, which fits most of our buyers with no extra hassle. If your key region differs, enabling a VPN of the right region during Steam activation is usually enough — once the game is bound to your account, it stays playable without any VPN. Each option's region is listed on its card, so pick the one that matches your account.
How to activate
It's the standard Steam flow: open the client, go to the "Games" menu → "Activate a Product on Steam", enter the code — and the game is in your library. No input fields are required from you at purchase; the key is delivered as a code. If you're buying a standalone Mooncrash key, make sure base Prey is already installed on that account, otherwise the add-on won't activate as a standalone game.

Prey stands alongside the other big immersive sims from Arkane and Bethesda.
