What Frostpunk 2 is about and how it differs from the first game
Where the first Frostpunk was about a single generator and surviving until morning, the sequel is about running an entire metropolis. You no longer place individual buildings: now you zone whole districts — housing, extraction, industry — and route heat and resources between them. The timescale changed too: weeks instead of hours, and every decision pays off not by dawn but over seasons.
The setting is an alternate 1916 and a sprawling New London. You play the Steward, burdened with overpopulation, food shortages, coal depletion and a volcanic winter that hasn't gone anywhere. The game tells the player honestly: the real enemy is not the cold, but people.
The Council, factions and the Idea Tree
The signature new mechanic is the Council. A hundred community delegates vote on your laws: a regular decision needs a majority, while major reforms demand two thirds of the votes. That turns every initiative into a bargain — promise one faction something and another takes offence. Through the Idea Tree you choose the city's ideological and technological path, and the factions — from pragmatists to zealots — react to each move. Frostpunk 2 is not only about surviving the winter, but about the price you pay and the society you build.
What you get with this option
This is the base edition of Frostpunk 2 — the full game with the Story campaign, the Utopia Builder sandbox and the Council system. Extra bundles (the Deluxe Edition with the "Warm Flesh" novella, artbook, soundtrack and seasonal DLC) are not included here — this is the clean, complete base, more than enough for dozens of hours in icy New London. The game runs on Unreal Engine 5 on PC (Windows and macOS); it later came to consoles too, but this gift is for Steam.
How we deliver the gift
Frostpunk 2 is sent as a Steam Gift through the bot of our supplier FZR. We only need two things from you: a Steam friend invite link (looks like s.team/p/...) and your Steam account region. The bot then adds itself to your friends, sends the gift, and leaves your friends list after delivery — no need to accept the request. Delivery usually takes a couple of minutes from the moment you order. Steam Guard is not required for this.
There are two conditions Steam needs before it will let you accept the gift: your account region must match the gift region (this option works across a group of 47 regions), and Frostpunk 2 must not already be in your library. Friend requests also have to be enabled in your profile settings.

Common questions before buying
Will the gift work if I already own the first game? Yes, these are two independent titles, and owning Frostpunk doesn't stop you from accepting Frostpunk 2. Do saves sync between PC and console? No, this is the PC Steam version that lives in your Steam library. Can I play on Steam Deck? The game runs on PC Steam; Deck support depends on its current verification status and doesn't affect the gift delivery itself.
