Why Battlefield 3 still holds up
Battlefield's strength has always been mixing infantry and vehicles on a single map. Region and ownership — the two key conditions
Steam will only accept the gift under two conditions. First: your account region matches the gift region — so enter your region correctly at checkout. If something goes wrong

Launch, platform and system notes
Battlefield 3 on Steam is the Windows PC version — the same one that once shipped through EA. Once you accept the gift, the game lands in your Steam library like any normal purchase: download, install and play. On first launch the game uses EA's services for multiplayer, so an EA account comes in handy for online battles — that's a built-in part of BF3, not a quirk of our delivery. On modern hardware it runs easily: the game is over a decade old and its requirements are modest by today's standards, so focus on a stable ping and good internet rather than your rig. If you like playing handheld on Steam Deck or on Linux, note that BF3 multiplayer can be fussy with anti-cheat and EA services — the single-player campaign starts up more reliably than online.
Tips for newcomers before your first match
If you're new to the series, don't try to solo-carry. Battlefield is about the team: heal and revive allies as a Medic, hand out ammo as an Assault, repair vehicles as an Engineer and spot enemies as a Recon. Support points add up just as fast as kills and unlock new gear quicker.
