WRC 8 is the World Rally Championship simulator by French studio KT Racing (Kylotonn), released in September 2019 and published by Nacon. This was the entry where the team noticeably tightened the physics, reworked the career and, for the first time, delivered genuinely live dynamic weather. What the gift includes

You receive the full WRC 8 with all base-game content: career mode, quick races, multiplayer and training. It's the official FIA World Rally Championship 2019 licence — real teams, drivers and cars across the WRC, WRC 2 and Junior WRC classes. The legendary-cars DLC (Alpine A110, Ford Escort RS, Lancia Delta HF Integrale) is a separate add-on from the Deluxe edition and is not part of this gift.

The game features all 14 rounds of the 2019 World Championship — from snowy Sweden and muddy Argentina to scorching Turkey and fast Finland with its famous jumps. More than a hundred special stages in total, and every region feels different: the surface, the grip and the driving style all change. There's no one-size-fits-all track here — you'll approach Monte Carlo and Wales in completely different ways.

Dynamic weather that actually gets in the way

WRC 8's headline feature is weather that shifts mid-stage. Rain turns gravel into slop, puddles gather in dips, and visibility drops toward evening. It isn't cosmetic: a wet surface genuinely eats your grip, and you have to read the co-driver's pace notes with the conditions in mind. Because of this, even a familiar stage plays differently every run.

Career with team management

WRC 8's career leans into management: you don't just drive, you build a team — hire staff, develop a skill tree, watch your car's condition and the season calendar. Research and training events appear between rounds, and your roster decisions affect results. It gives every season a point rather than turning the game into a pile of disconnected races.

How the Steam gift delivery works

The gift arrives via a bot. At checkout you provide your Steam friend invite link and your account region. The bot then adds itself to your friends, sends the gift and leaves your friends list once delivered — no need to accept anything by hand. The whole thing usually takes a couple of minutes. Steam Guard isn't required to accept the gift, and the account doesn't need to own any games beforehand.

Key acceptance conditions

For Steam to let you accept the gift, two conditions must hold. First, your Steam account region matches the gift region. Second, you must not already own WRC 8 on that account: Steam won't accept a gift for a game already in your library. WRC 8 feels good on both a gamepad and a wheel. The game supports popular rally wheels with pedals and a handbrake, with flexible tuning of sensitivity, dead zones and force-feedback strength. On a gamepad, assist settings help you get going, so you can start without expensive hardware and then gradually switch the aids off and move toward rawer car behaviour as your skill grows. That makes the game friendly to newcomers without capping the ceiling for those after a hardcore run.

Atmosphere and presentation

Rally is largely about sound and rhythm, and WRC 8 gets that. The engine roar, the gearbox snapping, the co-driver guiding you blind through the notes, gravel drumming under the floor — it all sells the sense of speed on a narrow forest road. The stages run through real locations from the season's rounds, and each region differs not only in surface but in the scenery around you, from Scandinavian forests to South American dust. As a result, even long sessions don't get stale.

Who WRC 8 is for

WRC 8 is for players who love rally as a discipline: attention to pace notes, reading a blind corner, fighting the weather and the clock. It's not an arcade drift-fest but a simulator with serious physics where precision matters.
