Word Game (ζειζ²) β a Steam gift for a puzzle where the whole world is made of words
Word Game (Chinese title ζειζ²) is an indie adventure by the Taiwanese studio Team9, published by Team9 and indienova, released on Steam on January 21, 2022. There are no ordinary backdrops here: the entire game is drawn out of words. Walls, doors, enemies and the protagonist named "I" (ζ) are literally written characters. To progress you don't jump or shoot you edit the text: erase the words "there is no door" and walk through the wall, rearrange characters and rewrite the very fact a sentence states. With us you buy not an activation code but a Steam gift: the game lands on your account through a bot and stays in your library for good.
How it plays: you edit reality itself
Every room in Word Game is a paragraph of text. The in-game narrator claims one thing, and you look for the gap between the lines and rewrite the puzzle's premise. A line says "there is no door" delete the word "no" and a door appears. The path is "closed" shift a character and the sentence reads differently. From this single idea Team9 builds dozens of puzzles: some about sentence logic, some about word order, some about the double meanings baked into Chinese characters. The mechanic deepens as you go, new rules for handling words appear, and the story of "I" trying to escape the text takes unexpected turns with several endings.
What the gift includes
This is the base, complete version of Word Game the full 2022 release, nothing cut. It contains the whole main campaign of puzzles, the story with multiple endings, 59 Steam achievements, Steam Cloud and Family Sharing support. The developer also sells a soundtrack and an art book separately those are standalone items and are NOT part of this gift: you receive the game itself. The pixel art is clean, but the real "visuals" here are the words, which is why people often call it a literary adventure as much as a visual one.
Important about language: Chinese only
Word Game is built on the Chinese language and supports Traditional and Simplified Chinese only. There is no English or Russian interface, and that is not a cosmetic detail: every puzzle relies on the meaning and spelling of Chinese characters, on wordplay and sentence grammar. If you don't read Chinese, most of the puzzles and the story will pass you by it's only fair to know that before buying. The usual buyers are people learning Chinese, fans of language riddles, or anyone curious about one of the most talked-about Taiwanese indies of recent years. Don't confuse it with English word games like Lingo or Baba Is You they play with words too, but their interface language is different.
Why players love it
On its Steam page the game holds an "Overwhelmingly/Very Positive" rating around 93% across nearly 6,000 reviews. Players praise the fresh idea (few games had ever made a puzzle out of text itself), the clever riddles that genuinely teach you to read between the lines, and the unexpected, at times moving story. It's a compact, authored adventure for an evening or two that's hard to mistake for anything else. If this one clicks for you, Team9 made a follow-up worth a look: Word Game World.
How we deliver the gift and what we need from you
We place the order as a Steam Gift through the FZR supplier's bot. We need two things from you: your Steam friend invite link (the s.team/p/... format) and your Steam account region. After payment our bot adds itself to your friends, sends the gift, then leaves you don't need to accept any request manually. You don't have to enable Steam Guard; the gift arrives without it. Delivery usually takes a couple of minutes from checkout, though we don't promise a strict timing.
Two conditions Steam needs to accept the gift
First: your Steam account region must match the gift's region. If they differ, Steam simply won't let you accept the gift so pick the option for your region. Second: you must NOT already own the game. Steam won't let anyone gift a title you already have, and that's the most common reason a gift fails to go through. With both conditions met it all runs smoothly. One more small thing: your Steam profile settings must allow friend requests, otherwise our bot can't reach you.
Platforms
Word Game runs on Windows, macOS and Linux native builds, no separate per-platform key needed. On Steam Deck it launches through the compatibility layer, but keep the language barrier in mind: the interface stays Chinese. For a word game that matters far more than the hardware.
