What Swansong is about

The story unfolds in Boston after an incident codenamed "Swansong" — a mass breach of the Masquerade that threatens the whole vampire community. Prince Hazel Iversen calls in her people and tasks three of them with sorting it out. You take turns playing Galeb, an old, cold-blooded Ventrue cleaner; Emem, a charismatic Toreador from the nightlife scene; and Leysha, an unstable Malkavian with a gift for illusions. Each has their own personality, branch and blood disciplines, and how you handle one hero echoes onto the others.

How it plays

Swansong is about exploring locations, dialogue with skill checks, hacking, gathering clues, and interrogations where what you've already learned matters as much as what you say. Experience points go into specializations: persuasion, psychology, technology, stealth. Vampire disciplines burn blood — and your supply is finite — so you constantly balance power against the risk of slipping into frenzy or breaking the Masquerade. The game rewards different styles: you can push through on charisma or quietly collect leverage and settle everything with words.

Editions and add-ons

There are several options in the catalog — here's the breakdown so you grab exactly what you need:

• Swansong (Standard) — the full base game with the entire story campaign across all three heroes. This is all you need to play the story start to finish.
• PRIMOGEN Edition — the maxed-out version: the base game plus all the extra content. Inside you get the Victoria Ash DLC, the Artifacts Pack, Olivier Derivière's digital soundtrack, and the New England By Night digital book. If you want everything at once without buying piece by piece, this is your pick.
• Victoria Ash (DLC) — adds Victoria Ash to the story, the most prominent Toreador in the Camarilla (played by Jessica Chobot, a guest on L.A. by Night). It's an add-on, so the base game is required.
• Artifacts Pack (DLC) — one personal item each for Galeb, Emem and Leysha: each gives one bonus and one penalty, plus you start with three pouches of blood from the Prince's personal reserve. A starting edge, not a separate game.
• Soundtrack — the official digital soundtrack by composer Olivier Derivière. It's music, not a copy of the game; it attaches to the base game in Steam.

How DLC differs from editions

Key point: the Artifacts Pack, Victoria Ash and the soundtrack are add-ons — they need the base Swansong already in your library. They won't launch anything on their own. Standard and PRIMOGEN Edition, on the other hand, are complete versions of the game that run by themselves. If you take the PRIMOGEN Edition, there's no need to buy the DLC separately — it's all bundled in.

Region and language

The base key comes in two flavors. The global key activates worldwide with no country lock — the most universal choice. There's also a separate RU/CIS regional key intended for accounts in that region. If you're not sure which to take, go global. As for language: the game has English voice acting plus subtitles and interface in several languages; the language is set in the options and doesn't depend on the key region.

How to activate the key

It takes a minute in the Steam client. Open "Games" in the top menu → "Activate a Product on Steam" → enter the code you received → confirm. The game or add-on appears in your library, and then you just download it. For DLC, the base game must be installed first.
