The fearsome Wild Draw Four stands apart: it both changes the color and dumps four penalty cards on an opponent. When you have one card left you must shout "UNO!" in time or catch a penalty and pick up a fresh hand. The digital version enforces the rules, turn order and scoring itself, so arguments about who shorted whom on cards and whose turn it is are gone for good — pure thrill remains.

Modes: everyone for themselves and team 2v2

The game has two main formats. Standard Play is the usual four-player match where everyone is on their own. The 2v2 mode pairs you with a partner: you play as a team, and the tactics shift — you can set up your ally and gang up on a common rival. Both modes work with friends and with bots if no live company is around, so you will not be bored on a group night or in a solo run.

House rules change every match

A special joy of UNO is the set of house rules you can toggle and combine to match the mood of your group. Stacking lets you pile penalty cards in response and pass the hit to the next player, 7-0 swaps hands around when a seven or zero is played, Jump-In allows cutting in out of turn if you hold the exact same card, while Force Play, No Bluffing and Draw to Match twist the dynamic in their own ways — forcing you to play a drawn card, banning bluffs on the Wild Draw Four, or making you draw until you match. Build your own set — and the familiar game gains new colors, matches become unpredictable, and habitual tactics have to be reinvented on the fly.

Themed decks and DLC

Besides the classic deck, themed sets were released for UNO: they bring new visuals, sounds and sometimes special rules. Such themes are sold as separate DLC — individually or bundled in the Ultimate Edition.
