Train Sim World 6: a driving sim where you actually run the train
Train Sim World 6 is the newest entry in the flagship railway simulator from UK studio Dovetail Games, released on September 30, 2025. There's nothing arcade-y about it: you climb into the cab of a real locomotive, build up pressure, release the brakes, watch the signals and run services on schedule through genuine stations. It hooks both players who just want to roll through a scenic route and those who want to understand every lever on the desk. Here you buy Train Sim World 6 as a Steam gift: we deliver it through a bot straight into your Steam library, and the edition you choose is yours to keep for good.
What's in the base game
The base version of Train Sim World 6 is identical across every edition and gives you three full routes on three continents right away. The British Riviera Line is a scenic South Devon run between Exeter and Plymouth with the Paignton branch, modern GWR Class 802 trains (which run on both diesel and electric power) and a commuter Class 150. The German Leipzig–Dresden route is a high-speed corridor with DB BR 143, 146 and 185 locomotives, BR 411/442 electric units, dozens of stations and voice announcements. The American Morristown Line in New Jersey covers commuter services from New York and Hoboken to Dover with NJ TRANSIT stock. From day one you've got Britain, Germany and the USA in one box.
Editions: Standard, Deluxe and Special
The key thing to grasp: Train Sim World 6 editions aren't different versions of the game — they're bundles. The base game is the same for everyone; only the number of add-ons changes, and each tier includes the one below it.
- Standard Edition — the base game and the three routes above. The ideal entry point.
- Deluxe Edition — everything in Standard plus three extra locomotives: the CrossCountry Class 220 'Voyager', the German DB BR 294 shunter and the dual-mode NJ TRANSIT ALP-45DP. More stock on the same routes.
- Special Edition — everything in Deluxe plus five new routes: MBTA Boston–Worcester in the USA, the German Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn, the Welsh Cardiff City Network, the Austrian Semmeringbahn and the Dutch Zwolle–Groningen line. The maximum content package for people who want it all at once.
Themed bundles: Thomas & Friends and country editions
Alongside the classic line-up there are special bundles. The Thomas & Friends Edition is the base game together with the family-friendly Thomas & Friends content: story-based adventures on the West Somerset Railway and the franchise's 80th Anniversary Expansion. A great pick if you play alongside kids. The UK Edition, Deutsche Edition and USA Edition are ready bundles with the full base game, each leaning into one country's routes and trains — British, German and American respectively. All of these still contain the complete game rather than acting as standalone DLC on top of it.
How we deliver the gift
Train Sim World 6 is delivered here as a Steam gift through a bot. You only need to provide two things: your Steam friend invite link (open your profile → “Add Friend” → copy the s.team/p/... link) and your account region. After payment, our bot adds itself as your friend, sends the gift and leaves once it's delivered — you don't need to accept anything. Steam Guard is not required. The whole process usually takes a couple of minutes, though we don't promise a hard timer — occasionally it can take a little longer.
Important region and account conditions
To make sure the gift goes through smoothly, keep two things in mind. First: your Steam account region must match the gift region you pick — otherwise Steam simply won't let you accept it. The gift is available for a wide set of regions (around 42 countries), so a matching variant is almost always there. Second: you must not already own the game on that account — Steam won't let you accept a gift for a title you already have, and that's the single most common cause of hiccups. As long as both conditions are met and friend requests are allowed in your profile, you're good.
It's a demanding sim — mind your hardware
Train Sim World 6 is a Windows 10/11 PC release. The simulator is gorgeous but genuinely taxing on your GPU and RAM, especially on long routes with dense traffic and detailed scenery. On Steam Deck and weaker setups it'll run, but you'll want to dial the settings back. It's worth checking the system requirements on the Steam store page before buying so you know what to expect.
