Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered is a collection from Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics, released on February 14, 2025. It bundles three turn-of-the-century Lara Croft adventures: Tomb Raider IV: The Last Revelation (1999), Tomb Raider V: Chronicles (2000) and Tomb Raider VI: The Angel of Darkness (2003). All three got revamped graphics and audio while keeping their old-school gameplay — and at any moment you can flip back to the original polygonal look with a single button. Here this collection is delivered as a Steam gift sent through a bot: there is nothing to activate manually.

What's inside

This is a full set of three games, not a single add-on. Each part is a complete, standalone story:

  • The Last Revelation — Lara returns to Egypt, accidentally awakens the god Set and has to stop what she unleashed. The most tomb-heavy, atmospheric entry of the classics.
  • Chronicles — four separate flashbacks to Lara, presumed dead: Rome, a Russian submarine, an abandoned island and a high-tech corporate skyscraper.
  • The Angel of Darkness — the series' dark detective turn: Lara becomes a fugitive across Paris and Prague, unravelling a conspiracy built on alchemical experiments.

What the remaster changes

Aspyr redrew the visuals and reworked the audio, layering in tons of extra detail — chipped walls, plants on rooftops, richer lighting — without touching the jump physics and mechanics the classics are famous for. The headline feature is a classic / remastered toggle that works mid-game, so you can compare how a location looked in 1999 versus now. Modern control schemes and quality-of-life touches were added, but the game design stays old-school — these are still the same puzzles and traps.

How you receive the gift

Platform and launch notes

This is the PC version for Steam. Once you accept the gift, the collection lands in your library like any purchased game — updates, cloud saves and achievements all work normally. It runs on modern Windows without the emulators and fan patches the ancient originals used to need. Controls can be set up for a gamepad or keyboard and mouse, and if the classic "tank" movement feels unfamiliar, the settings include a modern alternative.

Is it worth it now

If you grew up on the classic entries or want to play Lara's golden era without fighting patches and old-engine compatibility, this is the most convenient way. The collection balances nostalgia and comfort: new visuals for a fresh look and an "as it was" button for authenticity. All three stories stand on their own and can be played in any order.
