Story: the Mishima clan saga continues

The series has one of the longest ongoing storylines in gaming history, and TEKKEN 8 continues it. After Kazuya Mishima defeated his own father Heihachi and seized G Corporation to reach for world domination, his son Jin Kazama is forced to face his fate head-on. Through the cinematic story mode he reunites with his long-lost mother and tries to stop his father's terror. It is a personal, dark drama about cursed blood — with the series' signature bombast and spectacular set-piece scenes.

Roster and returns

The base roster counts 32 playable fighters. Among them is the return of Jun Kazama, absent from the main series for more than 25 years. Every character is reimagined around the new Heat mechanic and Unreal Engine 5 visuals: their old moves stay recognizable but gain fresh options. Extra fighters like Eddy Gordo, Lidia Sobieska, Heihachi and others arrive with seasonal Character Passes and are not part of the base key — if you want them, look at the Deluxe or Ultimate editions. Over time the series roster keeps growing through new seasons, but these 32 base-edition fighters are the foundation from which it is easiest to start getting into the eighth entry.

Modes: from arcade to a big online scene

There is plenty of content. Beyond the story campaign and arcade fights, TEKKEN 8 offers a rich online mode: ranked matches, lobbies and the social Tekken Fight Lounge, where you can hang out as an avatar between bouts. Online play needs internet and, per Steam rules, a valid account, while offline content is available without a constant connection. Newcomers get the simplified Special Style control scheme that lowers the entry barrier.
