SteamWorld Build is that rare game that fuses two genres as if they were always meant to live together. Above ground you build and grow a cozy town of robot settlers on a dying planet, while underground you run a genuine mining expedition: digging deeper, laying out elevators and rails, fending off subterranean creatures and hunting for ancient technology. What the game is and why it pulls you in

The game was made by The Station and published by Thunderful Publishing, releasing on December 1, 2023. It's part of the wider SteamWorld universe — the one with robot cowboys digging mines and battling in turn-based fights. But Build is unlike the earlier entries: instead of a platformer or tactics game it gives you a proper city-builder with a gentle learning curve that never drowns you in micromanagement yet never lets you get bored.

The gameplay splits into two connected phases. On the surface you lay roads, place houses, shops and factories, watch over your citizens' happiness and grow them across four professions — workers, engineers, aristocrats and beyond. Each new profession demands new goods and services, so the town grows organically: open a shop, unlock a population tier, and that tier asks for the next level of comfort. Underground a second game runs in parallel: you send miners down, harvest ore, gold and rare resources, clear rubble, build defenses against underground monsters and step by step close in on the rocket parts.

What this key includes

You get the full base version of SteamWorld Build — both phases in their entirety, the whole campaign, the town-progression system and the underground expeditions. This is not a demo or a trimmed bundle: redeem the key and you play from the first house to the rocket launch. The version is for PC and activates on Steam.

This is a regional key for Russia. For the code to activate smoothly, your Steam account should be in the Russia (RU) region. On accounts set to other regions Steam may refuse activation — that's a property of regional keys, not a faulty code. If you have a standard Russian Steam account, you simply enter the key and play, with nothing extra to configure.

How to activate the key on Steam

It takes a minute. Launch Steam, click "Games" in the bottom left → "Activate a Product on Steam", paste the code and confirm. SteamWorld Build is added to your library like any purchased game — you can download, update and reinstall it as often as you want, and it stays tied to your account forever. Steam Deck, Linux and system requirements

The game is lightweight and runs even on modest machines, and it feels great on Steam Deck — the controls and interface fit a handheld well. On Linux it runs through Proton. Keep in mind the key installs the PC version from Steam; it has nothing to do with the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation or Xbox versions.
