“Do you want to live forever?” — Starship Troopers: Terran Command drops you onto the front line of the human-versus-bug war, inspired by Paul Verhoeven's cult 1997 film. It's a real-time strategy game by The Aristocrats, published by Slitherine, released on June 16, 2022. You command the Mobile Infantry of the United Citizen Federation on the planet Kwalasha and hold the line against endless waves of Arachnids. What kind of game it is
Terran Command isn't a classic base-building, economy-and-upgrades RTS. The focus is tactics: small squads against huge swarms. Every soldier counts, reinforcements are limited, and the bugs overwhelm you with numbers — bursting from underground, flanking, and wiping out a careless squad in seconds. Victory comes from a well-built firing line, holding the high ground, smart withdrawals, and the right use of flamethroopers, rangers, snipers and heavy armor.

- Urban Onslaught (June 18, 2024) — urban warfare and a campaign expansion.
- The Eradicators (May 26, 2026) — content for Territory mode.
All expansions require the base game installed, so this key is your starting point. Want more Arachnids and maps — buy the DLC on top of the base later.
Units and tactics
You command a full arsenal of Mobile Infantry, and every squad has its job. Basic riflemen hold formation and pour fire down the approaches. Flamethroopers are indispensable against swarms of small bugs that would otherwise flood your position. Snipers pick off dangerous targets at range, rangers are mobile and flexible, and heavy armor and emplaced guns turn a narrow choke point into a meat grinder. On top of that come targeted abilities: artillery strikes, orbital support, mines and fortifications. The Arachnids are just as varied: workers crush you with numbers, warriors tear into you in melee, tankers soak up tons of damage, and flying or acid-spitting horrors break any static defense. Victory goes to whoever reads the battlefield, pulls back battered squads in time, and never lets the enemy slip around the rear.
The film universe
The game carefully captures the spirit of its source: the bombastic Federation propaganda, the dark humor, the endless tide of bugs, and the feeling that humanity is hanging on by its teeth. The militarism satire from Verhoeven's film plays in the background while you issue orders amid screeching Arachnids and the boom of railguns. This isn't just a licensed RTS — it's an honest attempt to convey that exact universe where “service guarantees citizenship” and every drop could be your last.
