STAR WARS™: Squadrons — a space combat flight sim set in a galaxy far, far away
Strap into the cockpit of an X-wing, take the controls of a TIE fighter, and feel what it's like to fly a starfighter through the heart of a galactic war. STAR WARS™: Squadrons isn't a casual point-and-shoot arcade — it's a proper space dogfighting sim from Motive and Electronic Arts, released on October 2, 2020. You don't pilot an abstract dot on a radar; you fly a living machine, watching your shields, redistributing power between engines, weapons and defenses, and managing throttle to slip onto an enemy's tail. Order from us and you get the game as a Steam gift, delivered straight to your library.
What's in the game
Squadrons is a single complete edition — no paid add-ons, no season passes, no gameplay microtransactions. Everything in the game is yours from the start:
- Story campaign. An original story set after the Battle of Endor and the destruction of the second Death Star. You play as two pilots in turn — for the New Republic's heroic Vanguard Squadron and for the Empire's Titan Squadron — seeing the fall of the Empire and the rise of the New Republic from both sides.
- 5v5 online dogfights. The Dogfight mode is pure team-vs-team starfighter combat where coordination and reading the fight win the day.
- Fleet Battles. Multi-stage engagements where two teams push through defenses, take down capital ships and decide the whole operation. Play against other players or bots.
- Starfighter customization. Swap components — weapons, hulls, engines, shields — to match your style, and tweak your cockpit, ship paint and pilot look. Rewards are earned through play, not your wallet.
Full immersion: VR and HOTAS
One of the biggest reasons Squadrons is still loved is its virtual reality support. On PC the game is fully playable in VR from the campaign to online matches — you literally turn your head inside the cockpit to track an enemy through the canopy glass. HOTAS flight sticks are supported too, for anyone who wants the real stick-and-throttle feel. Of course, you can also play with mouse and keyboard or a gamepad.
Cross-play: everyone in the same sky
Squadrons supports cross-play across PC, PlayStation, Xbox and VR — players from different platforms meet in the same matches, so empty lobbies aren't an issue even years after launch. That's rare for the genre and a real plus for the online side.
How we deliver it: Steam gift
We deliver Squadrons via Steam Gift. You provide two things: your Steam friend invite link and your account region. Our bot then adds itself as a friend, sends the gift, and automatically leaves your friends list once delivery is done — you don't need to accept anything. Steam Guard isn't required, and you don't need to prepare the account in advance. Delivery usually takes a couple of minutes from checkout.
Key conditions — read before ordering
To make sure the gift lands, check three things:
- Account region = gift region. Steam won't accept the gift if regions don't match. Pick the variant for your region and enter it in the field at checkout.
- You don't already own the game. Steam won't let you accept a gift for a game you already have. Order it for an account without Squadrons.
- Friend requests are open. Your profile settings must allow adding friends, otherwise the bot can't reach you.
Who Squadrons is for
If you love Star Wars and have always wanted to pilot those iconic starfighters yourself, this is your game. It's about pilot skill, teamwork and the atmosphere of a galaxy far, far away — not endless grind. Great for space-sim fans and anyone looking for something to try in VR.
If you enjoy the Star Wars universe in other genres, also check out STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order and STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor — lightsaber adventures from the same publisher, EA. And for large-scale online battles, STAR WARS Battlefront II is a natural pick.
