Sonic Frontiers β€” Steam Gift

About the game

Sonic Frontiers is the blue blur's first ever open-zone adventure: Sonic dashes across the Starfall Islands, solves puzzles, battles giant Guardians and hunts down the Chaos Emeralds. It's a full-on 3D platformer with high-speed drifting, skill upgrades and boss fights set to a driving rock soundtrack. You get the game as a Steam gift β€” pick the base version or Digital Deluxe with its bonus Explorer's Treasure Box.

Once the gift is delivered it cannot be refunded. If Steam rejects the gift due to region mismatch, the full amount is returned to your site balance.
Available items are processed automatically. Any issues will be resolved starting from 9:00 MSK.

Your Steam account region must match the gift region, and Sonic Frontiers must not already be in your library. Pick an edition β€” base or Digital Deluxe.

FAQ

Sonic Frontiers: an open world for the blue blur

Sonic Frontiers is a turning point for the series: for the first time ever the blue hedgehog isn't on a linear stage but inside a true open β€œzone”. Developed by Sonic Team and published by SEGA, it launched on November 8, 2022, and the studio coined the term β€œopen-zone” for it β€” not a classic sandbox, but large islands packed with platforming puzzles, rails, ramps and springs floating in mid-air. You tear across the Starfall Islands at full speed, drift into corners, and can break off into exploration at any moment to collect another map fragment.

What the story is about

Sonic, Tails and Amy are pulled into Cyber Space and separated. Sonic ends up stranded on the Starfall Islands, where he meets a mysterious AI called Sage and ancient mechanical Guardians. To free his friends and figure out what happened, you gather the Chaos Emeralds, open Cyber Portals and take down the colossal Titan bosses β€” fights set to powerful rock vocals. The narrative leans noticeably more serious than usual for the series, with plenty of dialogue and themes of memory and solitude, while Sonic's trademark speed stays front and center.

How it plays

The heart of Sonic Frontiers is flow. You chain ground running with rail grinds and boost sections, upgrade combat moves (like the Cyloop and Sonic Boom), raise your speed and ring caps, and feed Power and Defense Seeds to the tiny Koco. Combat is now a real system: Sonic has a skill tree, parries and flashy combos against the Guardians. Between high-speed runs there are light puzzles that reveal new chunks of the island map, so the world opens up gradually instead of dumping everything at once.

Base version vs Digital Deluxe β€” which to pick

There are two listings, and both are the same Steam gift; only the contents differ:

  • Sonic Frontiers (base) β€” the full game, uncut. The entire story, every Starfall Island, all bosses and the free updates SEGA added over time. If you just want Sonic in an open world, this is all you need.
  • Sonic Frontiers Digital Deluxe β€” the same game plus the Explorer's Treasure Box. It includes Memory Tokens for Amy, Knuckles and Tails (they speed up the friend story scenes), Chaos Emerald Vault Keys, Portal Gears for entering Cyber Space, extra gloves and shoes for Sonic, plus a digital art book and a 25-track mini soundtrack. These are head-start bonuses and collectible extras on top of the same game β€” not a separate copy.

How we deliver the gift

Sonic Frontiers is delivered as a Steam Gift through our bot. After your order the bot adds itself to your friends via the invite link, sends the gift, and automatically removes itself once delivered β€” you don't need to accept anything manually. Steam Guard isn't required. Two conditions matter: your Steam account region must match the gift region, and the account must not already own the game, otherwise Steam won't let you accept the gift. Delivery usually takes a couple of minutes from checkout.

System requirements and platform

This is the PC (Windows) version, launched through the Steam client like any library game. It's well optimized and runs comfortably on mid-range hardware; a gamepad is supported and feels more natural than a keyboard for a high-speed platformer. Once you accept the gift, Sonic Frontiers stays on your account permanently.

If you love Sonic and SEGA games

Sonic Frontiers is a great entry point into the modern hedgehog lineup. If you want more classic, co-op platforming, check out the colorful 2D Sonic Superstars, or grab two hedgehogs at once with Sonic X Shadow Generations. For retro Sonic, the Sonic Origins Plus collection is the way to go. They're all available from us as Steam gifts too.

Quick answers

Need Steam Guard? No. Can you gift it to an account that already owns it? No, Steam won't accept a duplicate gift. What if the bot didn't add you? Check your profile privacy and refresh the invite link β€” we'll retry. Why pick Deluxe over base? Only for the bonus Treasure Box with head-start items and digital extras; the game itself is identical. Which region should I enter? The exact country your Steam account is set to β€” if it doesn't match the gift region, Steam blocks the transfer, so double-check it before you order.
