What kind of game it is
SOMA is first and foremost story and atmosphere. There are no weapons and no traditional combat: your only survival tools are awareness, caution and knowing when to hide. The enemies — twisted creatures and malfunctioning machines — react to light, sound and your presence, so for much of the game you creep through the dark, listen carefully and decide when to freeze and when to run. No "kill everything" — just tense survival.
