Sniper Elite: Resistance β stealth sniping with the French Resistance, now as a Steam gift
Sniper Elite: Resistance is a standalone entry in the series from UK studio Rebellion, released on January 30, 2025. Set in Nazi-occupied France and running parallel to the events of Sniper Elite 5, it puts you in the boots of SOE operative Harry Hawker, who works with the local Resistance to sabotage a new secret weapon β a Wunderwaffe. The series' formula is intact: long-range shots that account for wind, gravity and heart rate, the iconic X-ray kill cams, and vast sandbox levels you can clear a dozen ways. Buying Sniper Elite: Resistance as a Steam gift here drops it straight into your library.
Story and setting
For the first time in the series, Harry Hawker takes the lead β once a sidekick, now running his own operation. France is under occupation, partisans hide in villages and forests, and the German war machine is forging a weapon that could turn the tide. Your job is to slip into locked-down sites, take out key targets and aid the Resistance while staying a ghost. The story unfolds alongside the fifth game's events, but you don't need prior knowledge: Resistance stands on its own.
How it plays: ballistics and sandbox
Resistance isn't a linear corridor but a set of spacious levels with multiple entry and exit points, side objectives and many routes to the main goal. You can go full stealth β knifing sentries, booby-trapping corpses, picking off targets from a distant perch and covering your tracks β or start a loud firefight if silence breaks. The signature ballistics hold up: wind pushes the bullet, distance drops it, and holding your breath helps you catch the perfect moment. Above it all sits the X-ray kill cam, which shows in slow motion how the bullet tears through an enemy β the series' calling card.
The workbench and weapon customisation
Between missions you tinker at the workbench: swapping barrels, scopes, ammo types and attachments to fit your style. Want a quiet build for silent takedowns or a heavy one for long shots β it's all adjustable. Upgrades and mods turn your kit into a personal tool rather than a preset, and it noticeably shapes how you clear a level.
Modes: solo, co-op and PvP
The campaign can be played solo or in co-op. Beyond it, Resistance offers several separate modes:
- Propaganda missions β short timed objectives as Resistance fighters, hidden across the campaign.
- Axis Invasion β the signature asymmetric PvP: another player invades your campaign as an enemy sniper and hunts you, while you hunt them.
- Survival β co-op against waves of enemies with allies.
- Competitive multiplayer β sniper duels between players.
Editions: Standard and Deluxe
We deliver Sniper Elite: Resistance as a Steam gift in two variants, and the difference is worth knowing in advance:
- Standard Edition β the full base game: the whole campaign (solo and co-op), multiplayer and the invasion mode. If you just want the game with no extra content, this is enough.
- Deluxe Edition β the base game plus the Season Pass: 3 extra campaign missions, 3 weapon packs, 3 weapon skin packs and a character skin pack, including the Target FΓΌhrer mission. Deluxe also includes a starting rifle and pistol with a skin.
One note: at launch Deluxe granted a couple of days of early access. That bonus only mattered at the January 2025 release and no longer applies β it doesn't affect edition contents or content access, and the game has long been available to everyone at once.
How Resistance differs from Sniper Elite 5
It's a standalone title, not an add-on: Harry Hawker's own storyline, its own levels and its own campaign. Its events run parallel to the fifth game, so the world and overall mood are familiar. If you played earlier entries you'll feel at home; if not, it's a convenient entry point because no backstory is required.
Who the game is for
Resistance is for players who love methodical stealth, planning an approach and the satisfaction of one precise shot over spraying an SMG. For tacticians, snipers and fans of big levels where you make the call rather than the script β it's a direct hit. Buying Sniper Elite: Resistance as a gift is worth it for that freedom: the same level can be cleared loud, quiet, or anything in between.
Gift delivery, explained
No keys or codes: this is a Steam Gift. We need your account region and the friend-invite link to your profile β grab it in the client under Friends β Add a Friend β invite via invite link, and enter it at checkout. The bot then adds itself through that link, sends the gift and leaves your friends list after delivery. No manual request confirmation, no Steam Guard, and no site registration to buy. Payment works from Russia and the CIS, and order questions go to the site chat. We don't promise a specific delivery time β it's a live service through the bot.
Account region and acceptance conditions
For Steam to accept the gift, two things must match. First, your account region matches the chosen edition's region (visible from the lot's currency), so pick the variant for your country. Second, Sniper Elite: Resistance isn't already in the recipient account's library: Steam won't hand over a gift for an owned game, and the funds return to your balance. If the bot can't add you, it's almost always a closed friend-request setting in your privacy options or a stale invite link β open friend-adding, refresh the link and message us. The game needs no separate promo codes; any active lot discount is already in the price.
Neighboring storefront cards
If the WWII theme grabs you but you'd rather command a whole unit than a single sniper, check out Men of War β a real-time military strategy with direct control over vehicles and infantry; after Resistance's pinpoint stealth it's a great contrast in scale. And if you'd rather not commit to one game, grab a Steam wallet top-up and buy whatever you like yourself β the Resistance Season Pass or a completely different title. Both are available here, with payment from Russia and the CIS.
