Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an action-adventure from the legendary FromSoftware (creators of Dark Souls and Bloodborne), published by Activision, released in 2019 and a deserved winner of Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2019. Director Hidetaka Miyazaki conceived Sekiro as a departure from Dark Souls — a standalone game about shinobi and ninja grounded in Japanese mythology and Buddhist philosophy. And you feel it: the atmosphere, vertical locations and the ringing clash of crossed blades create something genuinely its own, unlike anything else.
