Crew, ships and solo play

You can sail solo on a nimble sloop, or as a crew of up to four pirates on a mid-size brigantine or a huge galleon. The bigger the ship, the more hands it needs and the more epic the fights. There are no fixed roles: today you are at the wheel, tomorrow on the cannons or up the mast, spotting sails on the horizon. Crossplay across PC, Xbox and PlayStation 5 is supported, so you can invite friends from any platform.

What to do out at sea

There is plenty to do, and it varies. You take trading company voyages, hunt for legendary treasure, fight skeletons and sea monsters like the Kraken and the Megalodon, and play story Tall Tales — small cinematic campaigns with their own narrative. A separate layer is PvP via the Hourglass and faction battles, where crews clash for reputation and loot. Every few months a new season arrives with events, rewards and fresh content. Worth a special mention are the emergent stories: a chase after another crew's galleon, a sudden storm tearing at your sails, a Megalodon surfacing from the deep, or an unexpected alliance with another crew right in the middle of a fight — all of it arises on its own and never repeats the same way twice. Over its years of life the game has grown dozens of legends, trading companies, world-boss events and cosmetics, so even after hundreds of hours there is always something to strive for.

Editions and bundles: base, Deluxe, Premium

The base edition is the full game with all the content added since launch. The extra bundles differ in cosmetics and currency, not in access to gameplay.

Localisation is fine: the interface and texts are translated into Russian, and voyages, menus and prompts read comfortably. There is no separate Russian voice-over, but it is barely needed — Sea of Thieves is built around live voice chat between players, and it is your crew's voices that become the real "voice-over" of your adventures.
