RuneScape: Dragonwilds is an open-world survival game set in the universe of the legendary MMORPG RuneScape, made by Jagex. It takes place on Ashenfall — a forgotten continent of Gielinor where dragons have awoken after a long slumber. You land in the wilds with almost nothing: you gather wood and stone, light a fire, craft your first gear and gradually turn a fragile camp into a fortified base. What kind of game it is
Dragonwilds blends the classic survival-crafting formula with the recognisable soul of RuneScape. Magic is a real highlight — spells help in combat and everyday survival alike, from telekinetically pulling resources to blasting dragons. Solo or with up to four players
You can play Dragonwilds solo, but it truly shines in co-op: a server holds up to four players in one session. You split the roles — someone farms ore, someone builds and cooks, someone tanks the dragon — and clear dungeons and bosses together. Shared progress, recipes and a common base make team runs meaningful: gathering everything for the finale solo takes a while, while four players get there fast and have a blast.
What's included in the gift
This is the base RuneScape: Dragonwilds game for PC (Windows) on Steam — with all current Early Access content and all future updates to this version. You don't need to buy extra packs to start: gathering, crafting, building, magic, skill progression and co-op are all available right away. Early Access and full launch
RuneScape: Dragonwilds launched in Steam Early Access on 15 April 2025 and sold over a million copies during early access — a strong start for a new survival game. It's actively updated based on player feedback, and the full 1.0 release is scheduled for 15 September 2026, not only on PC but also on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Important: buying a copy now gets you the very same game, which simply keeps updating up to and beyond the full launch — you won't have to buy a separate "full version" later.
