Resident Evil Village β a Steam gift straight to your account
Resident Evil Village (the eighth main entry, RE8) is a survival-horror from Capcom, released on May 7, 2021, and still one of the most atmospheric chapters in the series. Ethan Winters heads into a snowbound village to rescue his kidnapped daughter Rose and gets caught between four Lords led by Mother Miranda: the towering Lady Dimitrescu with her castle and daughters, the doll-filled House Beneviento, Moreau's reservoir, and Heisenberg's factory. This product is a Steam gift: the game lands right in your Steam library and stays yours forever, with no subscriptions or rentals.
What each edition includes
There are several options on this page, and the difference is fundamental β pick based on whether you want the add-on content:
- Resident Evil Village (base game) β the full main campaign as Ethan, the base version of The Mercenaries mode, played in first person. This is everything you need to play the village story from start to finish. The same edition under its Japanese title ships as BIOHAZARD VILLAGE.
- Gold Edition β the base game plus the Winters' Expansion in a single gift. The most complete option: the main campaign and all the added content at once, nothing else to buy. The Japanese counterpart is BIOHAZARD VILLAGE Gold Edition.
- Resident Evil 7 Gold Edition & Village Gold Edition β a double bundle: two full entries in their Gold configurations at once, both the seventh and the eighth game. The best pick if you want to play Ethan Winters' arc in full. The Japanese version is BIOHAZARD 7 Gold Edition & VILLAGE Gold Edition.
What the Winters' Expansion adds
The Winters' Expansion (included in the Gold editions) launched on October 28, 2022, and noticeably expands the game with three big things:
- Shadows of Rose β a separate story chapter. Sixteen years after the village events, a grown-up Rose Winters, Ethan's daughter, tries to rid herself of her supernatural powers by diving into the consciousness of the Megamycete. This story is played in third person and gives the whole saga a brand-new epilogue.
- Third Person Mode β the option to play the main campaign from a third-person, over-the-shoulder view, seeing Ethan from behind. Many players replay the campaign just for this perspective.
- The Mercenaries Additional Orders β an expansion of the Mercenaries mode: three new playable characters (Chris Redfield, Karl Heisenberg, and for the first time Lady Dimitrescu herself) plus two new stages, Bloody Village and Bloody River.
Gift region β pick the right one
Region matters for a gift too: its region must match your Steam account region, otherwise the gift won't be accepted. If your Steam is tied to Russia or a neighboring country, take the matching regional variant. Your Steam account region is set through local payment methods and doesn't change on a whim, so go by that rather than by VPN.
How you receive the gift
This is a Steam gift, not a key or a code β no manual activation. After payment our bot will add itself to your friends list (or you follow an invite link), send Resident Evil Village as a gift straight to your Steam account, and then remove itself from friends. You don't need to send or confirm a friend request by hand β it all happens automatically. A few things to keep in mind:
- No Steam Guard required β there's nothing extra to confirm.
- Matching region β your Steam account region must match the gift's region.
- Not already owned β the edition you picked must not already be on your Steam account.
- Speed β delivery usually takes a couple of minutes after payment.
Once the gift arrives, just accept it in Steam and download the game. It runs on Windows; Steam Deck and Linux owners can play it via Proton too.
Is Village worth it
Village blends classic horror in the spirit of the fourth game with more cinematic action: an eerie atmosphere, memorable bosses, exploration, crafting and resource management at the mysterious merchant Duke. If you enjoyed Resident Evil 4 Remake and its rural dread, Village feels like a spiritual successor. And if you want to see where Ethan Winters' arc began, play Resident Evil 7: Biohazard first. Fans of the classic remakes will also enjoy Resident Evil 2. All three are a great way to dive into modern Resident Evil.
Quick answers
The gift arrives straight in your Steam β we don't need any of your account details, and nothing has to be entered in advance. The base game and Gold Edition are self-sufficient; all the Winters' Expansion content comes inside the Gold editions. Pick the region that matches your Steam account, and enjoy the hunt in the village.
