What kind of game this is

Remnant launched on August 20, 2019. Developer: Gunfire Games (the same team that later made Remnant II); publisher: Perfect World / Gearbox Publishing. The genre sits at a crossroads: soulslike combat, third-person shooting and light RPG progression through scrap and gear. You're a survivor leaping through gateways into different worlds — the ruins of Earth, the swamps of Corsus, the scorched Rhom, the forest world of Yaesha. Each world has its own bosses, weapons and story branches.

The headline feature — procedural generation

Maps, boss placement, events and even some rewards in Remnant are procedurally generated. That means your run and your friend's run will differ: one world spawns a certain boss, another spawns an alternate one, and each can drop a different weapon or modifier. Want a specific gun? Sometimes you'll re-roll the world and clear it again. This is exactly why Remnant rewards replaying and grinding builds.

Co-op for up to three players

You can solo Remnant, but its heart is three-player online co-op. Bosses scale to the number of players, so it's no walk in the park even as a trio.
