REMATCH is an arcade online football game where you control a single player on the pitch rather than the whole team. Sloclap, the studio behind Sifu and Absolver, brought its signature feel for control and timing into sport: matches are 5v5 from a third-person view, with no pauses, substitutions, offsides or referee. There's only the ball, your position, and the split-second decision you make — play the pass, get open for a cross, or commit to the tackle. What the game is and why it's so moreish

REMATCH launched on June 19, 2025 and quickly found the crowd that was tired of manager-style football sims and wanted to feel the game from the inside. The behind-the-player camera turns familiar football into something close to an action game: you don't look down at the pitch, you literally run across it. Dribbling, beating a defender, a long-range shot, a keeper's save — each is a separate skill you train with your hands, not with numbers in a menu. Matches are short and punchy, so "just one more" easily turns into an hour.

The heart of REMATCH is team chemistry. Five real players against five: someone holds the back line, someone works the flank, someone waits for the chance to strike. One ball-hog wrecks the whole attack, while a coordinated five carves the opponent open in three passes. That's exactly why the game is so good to grab with friends.

Standard, Pro and Elite — what's different

REMATCH has three editions, and it's important to understand up front: all three contain the game itself. This isn't a "base plus upgrades on top" setup — Pro and Elite already include the full game, so there's no need to buy the standard version separately.

• Standard — the clean, full REMATCH game with no extra cosmetics. The best pick if you only care about the gameplay.
• Pro Edition — the game plus the Blazon cosmetic set (player background and title, Buckler tank top, pattern, Blazon jewel set) and 1 Captain Pass upgrade ticket for the season pass.
• Elite Edition — the game plus an extended Blazon set (additionally a Blazon cap and Blazon AR cage), the Glitcher cosmetic trainers, and 2 Captain Pass upgrade tickets.

The Blazon items and cosmetics are purely visual: they change how your player and interface look, but give no advantage on the pitch. Captain Pass tickets let you bump the season pass up to its premium tier and unlock its rewards faster.

An honest word on launch bonuses

At launch, Pro and Elite came with 72 hours of early access and a special "Adopter" hat for early support. Those were time-limited launch perks from June 2025 and are no longer relevant today — we're not selling you "a day earlier" access. The real value of the editions now is the game itself plus the lasting cosmetics and Captain Pass tickets that stay with you.

How we deliver REMATCH (Steam Gift)

REMATCH reaches you as a Steam gift, which means a couple of conditions need to be met for Steam to accept it:

• Region to region. Your Steam account region must match the region of the version you pick. The standard edition is available across a wide set of regions, while Pro and Elite cover slightly fewer. Choose the variant for your region.
• You don't already own it. Steam won't let you accept a gift for a game you already have. The receiving account must not own REMATCH.
• Open friend requests. Allow friend requests in your profile settings so our bot can reach you.

From there it's almost hands-off: you provide your invite link and region, pay for the order, the bot adds you, sends the gift (usually within a couple of minutes), and leaves your friends list once delivery is done. You don't need to accept the friend request, and Steam Guard isn't required to receive the gift.

Where you can play

REMATCH officially ships for PC on Windows 10 and 11 via Steam. It's a fully online title, so you'll need an internet connection and a Steam account. If you play on Steam Deck or Linux through Proton, check the current compatibility status on the game's page beforehand — for live-service PvP titles it can shift from update to update.

If you love fast competitive matches, value hand skill over grinding stats, and want to play football "with your own feet" instead of steering a team with arrows, REMATCH is for you.
