Ravenswatch is a co-op action roguelike from the French studio Passtech Games, the team behind the grim Curse of the Dead Gods. Familiar heroes of folk tales and legends are reimagined from a harsher angle here: Scarlet with her rifle and wolf, the mighty Beowulf, the icy Snow Queen, the sinister Pied Piper of Hamelin and others band together as the Ravens to push back the Nightmares — the fog devouring the world of Reverie. This is not a cozy bedtime story but its tough, atmospheric flip side.

When you buy Ravenswatch from Brawl Games, you receive the game as a Steam gift straight into your library — no resold accounts, no shady launchers. Below we break down what each version contains, how the gift delivery works, and what to check before ordering.

What the game is and why it's so addictive

Ravenswatch left Steam Early Access (which began back on April 6, 2023) and hit its full 1.0 release on PC in September 2024, later reaching PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. It's a top-down real-time action game: you pick a hero, head out onto a large map, clear it of creatures, upgrade your abilities mid-run, and face a boss at a set hour. Between nights there's a short breather to choose perks and talents. Lose, and you start a new run a little wiser.

The heroes are the heart of it. Each has a unique kit, mechanic and playstyle: one is a melee bruiser, another a ranged marksman, another leans on magic and crowd control. Because of that, the same run feels different depending on who you play and who you play with. And up to four-player co-op turns Reverie into a stage for coordinated (or hilariously chaotic) raids: hero abilities combine, and a smart pairing can decide a boss fight.

The base version of Ravenswatch

The base edition is the full game: the entire core hero roster, all modes and the campaign against the Nightmares, both co-op and solo. If you just want Ravenswatch itself without collector add-ons, skins or the soundtrack, this version is more than enough for dozens of hours of runs.

Year One Edition: everything from the first year

The Year One Edition (also called the Year 1 Edition) is a "game plus all of the first year's content" bundle. Alongside the game itself, it includes:

• New heroes: Merlin, plus the Romeo & Juliet duo — a single playable character with its own mechanic.
• 6 skin packs: Fairytales, Ravens, Nightmares, Unleashed, Romeo & Juliet and Timeless — cosmetics that reshape the heroes' looks.
• An artbook with concept art of the world of Reverie.
• The original soundtrack of the game.

So the Year One Edition is the same game but with an expanded roster and cosmetics right out of the box. If you want maximum content from the start and the new characters appeal to you, go for this edition. If only the base matters, the standard version is plenty.

How the Steam gift arrives

Delivery is transparent and doesn't involve fiddling with someone else's account. When placing the order you provide two things: your Steam friend invite link (copy it from your profile under "Add Friend"; it looks like s.team/p/...) and your Steam account region.
