Project Zomboid β buy it as a Steam gift and survive the zombie apocalypse
Project Zomboid is the isometric survival sandbox whose main menu greets you honestly with "This is how you died." British-Canadian studio The Indie Stone has been developing it since its 2013 early access launch, and over the years Project Zomboid has grown into one of the deepest zombie-apocalypse simulators around: Knox County, Kentucky, thousands of the dead, realistic hunger, fatigue, illness, panic and fraying nerves. You don't "win" here β you just last longer. With us you get a full copy of the game as a Steam gift: a single edition and a 4-Pack for your group are available, and payment goes through from Russia and the CIS.
What the game is and why it hooks you so hard
Project Zomboid isn't about heroic action but about daily life after the end of the world. You scavenge for food and clean water, board up windows, light fires, learn new skills from books and magazines, treat wounds and fight infection. Any sound β a gunshot, a started car, breaking glass β pulls a horde toward you. The game simulates temperature, carry weight, mood, even boredom and the loneliness of isolation. The world is large and open: explore it on foot or by car, build up a base and survive the changing seasons. Death is part of the story: you start over, but smarter.
What's included in the gift
The gift is a full licensed copy of Project Zomboid that lands permanently in your Steam library and updates along with the game. No demos, subscriptions or cut-down versions. Two options are available:
- Project Zomboid β a single copy for one Steam account.
- Project Zomboid 4-Pack β a set of four copies: one for you and three to gift to friends and team up in co-op. A great way to jump into survival as a group.
What Build 42 brought in
The major Build 42 update, which reached the stable branch in 2026 after a long testing period, noticeably expanded the game. Animals arrived β sheep, chickens, pigs, cows and wild game you can raise or hunt for meat, leather, eggs and milk. The crafting system was reworked: pottery, forging, stone working, brewing and other crafts are now available, each with its own occupations and skills. The world grew larger and taller: an extended Louisville, buildings many floors high, basements and sublevels. The gift is the current version of the game with all these additions.
Solo or co-op
Project Zomboid is equally good solo and with friends. Alone it's a slow, tense story of one person against a dead city. Co-op on a dedicated or local server means a shared base, split roles (a scavenger, a builder, a medic) and far livelier tales of failure, where one mistake drags the whole team down. Planning to play with friends β the 4-Pack covers four accounts at once.
Gift handover: our part and yours
Delivery goes through Steam Gift. You create a friend invite link (in the client: "Friends" β "Add a Friend") and provide it at checkout along with your account region. Our bot then adds itself as your friend, sends the Project Zomboid gift and automatically leaves your friends list after delivery. No accepting the request by hand, and Steam Guard isn't required either. The process usually takes a little while, but we don't promise a strict timing β sometimes it's worth a short wait.
About the region and a key condition
The key condition for a gift: your Steam account region must match the gift region, otherwise Steam simply won't let you accept it. The region is tied to a specific listing and visible by its currency, so pick the variant for your own region. The second point β Project Zomboid must not already be in this account's library, since a duplicate gift for the same game won't go through. Not sure which region your account is in β ask us in the chat before paying and we'll help sort it out. If something doesn't line up, the order value returns to your Brawl Games balance.
System requirements and platforms
Project Zomboid runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, feels great on weak machines and plays well on the Steam Deck thanks to its isometric graphics. Once the gift arrives, the game is available on every supported platform of your Steam account. It's one of those games that doesn't demand top-tier hardware yet offers enormous depth β a rare combination.
Beginner tips before your first run
Project Zomboid doesn't forgive rushing, and the first hours are best spent getting used to it. Don't play hero in the open: a single zombie is almost harmless, but street noise gathers dozens, and a crowd can take down even an experienced survivor. Move quietly, keep an escape route, and don't hold sprint without need. Set priorities early β food and water spoil, and power and plumbing will eventually shut off, so hunt for canned goods, learn to cook and collect rainwater. Treat wounds, or infection and fever will finish you faster than the dead. And mind your character's mood: boredom, panic and sadness really affect skills, so sometimes it's smarter to read a book or listen to the radio than to raid another house. Dying here isn't a failure but part of the experience: your next character starts with your mistakes already behind them.
Why it has stayed on top for years
Project Zomboid entered early access back in 2013 and since then hasn't just survived but grown into a cult survival simulator with a huge, durable community. The secret is the depth of its systems and its mods: for years players have written extensions, adding maps, mechanics, weapons and whole modes, so the same game feels new every time. The Indie Stone doesn't abandon the project β big updates like Build 42 may not come fast, but they overhaul the game thoroughly. That's why buying Project Zomboid as a gift is a long-term investment: there's already hundreds of hours of content without mods, and with mods it practically never runs out.

If it's the resource management and thinking ahead in Project Zomboid that grabs you β what to take, where to fall back, how to divide roles β you might enjoy Men of War: a real-time military strategy where everything rests on planning and staying cool under pressure. And to grab anything yourself without being tied to regional listings, a Steam Gift Card is handy β top up your Steam wallet and decide whether to grab another copy for a friend, a different survival game or something else entirely from the store.
