Plants vs. Zombies™ Garden Warfare 2: Deluxe Edition — Steam Gift

The plants are on the offensive and the zombies are no longer just defending — this time Dr. Zomboss actually took over Neighborville, and the green heroes have to take their town back. Garden Warfare 2 is a third-person shooter by PopCap and Electronic Arts where, instead of guarding lawns, you run, jump, hover and blast peas (or zombie plasma) in team battles. Here you grab the Deluxe Edition as a Steam gift: the full game plus a pack of bonus content, no subscriptions and no separate in-game purchases required.

What kind of game this is

Where the first Garden Warfare was largely about holding points, the sequel grew into a full hub-shooter. Its heart is the Backyard Battleground: a living social space you can drop into alone or with three friends, pick up daily quests, fend off enemy waves, hop through mode portals and just mess around with characters. From here you head into big PvP battles and co-op, then come back to spend the coins you earned.

Classes split into two factions. Plants field the Pea Shooter, Sunflower, Cactus, Chomper and Rose; zombies bring the Soldier, Engineer, Scientist, Super Brainz and the Imp with his hulking Mech. Every hero has dozens of variants with different weapons and abilities, all unlocked from sticker packs you buy with in-game coins. No real-money grind needed — playing the game is enough.

Modes: from solo to 24 players

  • Herbal Assault / Turf Takeover — the flagship 24-player mode: zombies push, plants defend a chain of points (or the other way around).
  • Garden Ops / Graveyard Ops — up to 4-player co-op against AI waves, with bosses and shifting objectives.
  • Solo and offline split-screen — almost every mode can be played against bots, including two players on one screen. A rare treat for a shooter this size.
  • Backyard Battleground — a mini-campaign and free-roam zone with its own quests for each faction.

What's inside the Deluxe Edition

The Deluxe version is the full game plus a cosmetic bonus pack — you do not need a separately purchased base game. It includes:

  • Grass Effect Z7 Imp and its companion Mech variant — a sci-fi homage skin, exclusive to this edition.
  • Phenomenal Character Variant Pack — a set of special character variants.
  • 200,000 Coins Starter Pack — a meaningful head start so you can crack open sticker packs and build your favorite heroes right away.
  • Emoji Pack and accessory packs for both plant and zombie classes — looks and emotes to customize.

None of the cosmetics affect balance: everything Deluxe gives you is self-expression content and a fast coin start, not pay-to-win.

How you receive the gift

This is a Steam gift, not a key. After you place the order, our bot adds itself to your Steam friends, sends the game as a gift, then removes itself — you don't have to accept anything by hand. The whole thing usually takes a couple of minutes from checkout. Steam Guard is not required to receive the gift. All you provide is your friend invite link and your account region.

Two conditions Steam needs before it lets the gift through: your Steam account region must match this gift's region, and the game must not already be in the recipient account's library (Steam won't let you accept a gift for a game you already own). Your profile must also allow friend requests.

Platform and hardware

The gift lands in your Steam library like any normal game — on Windows PC. Garden Warfare 2 launched on consoles back in February 2016, and the Steam Deluxe Edition arrived later, in 2022, so the PC online and community are current. The game is light by modern standards and runs fine on office and mid-range builds; it also boots through Proton on Steam Deck/Linux, though it carries no official compatibility rating.
