Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire โ chase a god across the archipelago and buy the RPG as a Steam Gift
Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is a big classic role-playing game by Obsidian Entertainment (published by Versus Evil), released on PC on May 8, 2018 for Windows, macOS and Linux. It's an old-school isometric party RPG focused on story, dialogue and the consequences of your choices, with modern polish and โ importantly โ a turn-based combat mode for those who dislike real-time bustle. Here Deadfire comes as a Steam Gift โ we deliver it to your account through a bot. Below we cover what the game is about, how the editions differ, and how gift delivery works.
What the game is about
Eothas, the god of light and rebirth once thought dead, suddenly awakens โ right beneath your stronghold from the first game โ and strides off as a giant walking titan, tearing at your soul on the way. You are the Watcher, and to survive and get answers you set off after him into the tropical Deadfire archipelago. Here the interests of gods, trading companies, pirates and native peoples collide, and your decisions genuinely shift the balance of power. You don't need to have played the first game: it eases newcomers in, while veterans can carry over the consequences of old choices.
The ship Defiant and seafaring
One of the series' biggest additions is the ship. The Defiant becomes your home and your way around the open archipelago: you sail between dozens of islands, hire a crew, watch supplies and morale, upgrade the vessel itself, and even enter ship-to-ship battles โ text duels where you maneuver, close in and fire a cannon volley at the right moment. Coves, ruins, quests and whole story arcs hide between the islands, so exploring is genuinely rewarding.
Combat: real-time with pause, or turn-based
Deadfire respects different tastes. By default combat is real-time with active pause: the action doesn't stop, but at any moment you can pause, assess and issue orders to the whole party. For those who prefer a thoughtful pace, there's a full turn-based mode (added in an update) with initiative order and calm calculation of every action. You pick the mode at the start, so the game suits both dynamic players and tacticians.
Classes, multiclassing and builds
The role-playing system runs deep. There are various classes, each with several subclasses and their own quirks, and the standout is multiclassing: you can combine two specializations into something like a battle mage or a priest-rogue. Add attributes, skills, reputation and dozens of abilities, and the room for experimentation is huge โ every build feels distinct. It's this depth that genre fans love Deadfire for.
Companions and a reactive world
Your party is built from companions โ colorful characters with their own personalities, stories, personal quests and opinions about your actions. New to Deadfire is the companion relationship system: they react not only to you but to each other, arguing, bonding and falling out based on your choices and events along the way. The world is rich with text, voiced lines and reactivity: important decisions echo far beyond the scene where you made them, and factions and locals remember your reputation. It's this liveliness and attention to detail that makes every playthrough truly your own.
Editions: base and Obsidian Edition
Both options are the complete game; the difference is the bundled expansions:
- Base edition โ the whole Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. The huge main campaign, the ship, companions โ all there.
- Obsidian Edition โ the most complete: the game plus the Season Pass with three major story expansions (Beast of Winter; Seeker, Slayer, Survivor; The Forgotten Sanctum) and the Explorer's Pack. Ideal if you want to play everything at once with no add-on purchases.
Rule of thumb: want the main game โ base edition; want all the series' story content up front โ Obsidian Edition.
Russian language
Deadfire is a very โtext-heavyโ game, and that matters: it has a Russian text localization โ interface and subtitles are translated. There's no Russian voice-over (voices are English), but since you spend most of the time reading dialogue and descriptions, a full text translation makes the playthrough comfortable even without English.
How the gift delivery and region work
We deliver the game as a Steam Gift. You provide your friend invite link (Steam profile โ โAdd Friendโ โ the s.team/p/... link) and account region; the bot adds you, sends the gift and leaves after delivery. You don't need to accept the request manually, and Steam Guard isn't required. Key point: the gift is region-bound, so your account region must match the lot's region, and the game must not already be in the recipient's library. If the region doesn't match or the game is already owned and the gift can't be accepted, we refund to your site balance.
Payment, checkout and a quick word before buying
You can pay by Russian cards, SBP, crypto or balance; a promo code goes in the coupon field at checkout, and registration is optional. We don't promise exact delivery timing โ the status is always in your account, and we handle questions in chat. Bottom line: Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is a deep, beautiful and genuinely open RPG with a ship, gods and dozens of hours of adventure, plus a turn-based mode and Russian text. Enter the correct region and a fresh invite link โ and the gift will be waiting in your Steam library. Set sail! ๐
