PEAK β co-op climbing where falling is as fun as reaching the top
PEAK launched on Steam on June 16, 2025 and became one of the year's biggest co-op hits within a single week. It was made by two indie studios β Aggro Crab and Landfall Games β and sold over 10 million copies in just a couple of months. The premise is brilliantly simple: you and your friends are a band of stranded scouts shipwrecked on a mysterious island, and your only hope of rescue is to climb the mountain at its center. It sounds easy right up until you slip off a ledge and drag your whole team down with you.
Here we sell PEAK as a Steam gift: the game is delivered straight to your account via a bot and then stays in your library forever. Below is everything worth knowing before you buy: how the game works, how the gift is delivered, and what to watch for with regions.
What PEAK is and why everyone's hooked
PEAK is a co-op climbing game for up to four players. The mountain is semi-procedurally generated and refreshes once a day, so every run feels fresh. You scramble through five distinct biomes while managing stamina, hunger and injuries, scavenging gear and food, and constantly deciding whether to risk a jump or find a safer route.
The standout feature is proximity voice chat: the farther away a teammate is, the quieter they sound, and that's where the best moments come from β desperate shouts of "grab the rope!", nervous laughter, and a tiny betraying "oops" a split second before someone plummets. PEAK gets compared to Lethal Company and Phasmophobia precisely for that chemistry of chaos and friendship.
Gear and survival on the mountain
Climbing isn't only about reflexes β it's about management. Here's what shapes your run:
- Stamina. Every move drains it, and hunger and injuries lower your maximum. Skip food and you won't make the climb.
- Gear. Rope spools, a rope cannon and pitons let you rig crossings and secure the team on sheer faces.
- Consumables. Food and elixirs give temporary stamina boosts or protection β but some mushrooms are poisonous, so don't chew on everything you find.
- Backpack and carrying. You can hold three items plus four in a backpack, so what you bring is its own team decision.
- Reviving. Fallen teammates can be brought back at campsites, so you don't have to abandon friends on the slope (even if you sometimes want to).
Post-launch content
Since release PEAK has received two major updates that added new areas β the Mesa region and a fungal forest called "The Roots" β along with new items, cosmetics and enemies. So even months after launch there's plenty left to explore on the mountain.
How we deliver PEAK
You buy PEAK as a Steam gift. Here's how it works: at checkout you provide your Steam friend invite link and your account region. Our bot adds itself as your friend, sends the gift, and automatically leaves your friend list after delivery β no need to accept anything manually. Delivery usually takes just a couple of minutes. All you do is hit "Accept Gift" in Steam, and PEAK is yours for good.
Region and key conditions
Before buying, double-check two things, or Steam won't let you accept the gift:
- Your account region must match the gift region. Pick the option for your region and enter it in the field at checkout.
- PEAK must not already be in your library. Steam won't accept a gift for a game you already own β that's the number-one reason a delivery fails.
- Friend requests must be allowed in your profile settings so the bot can find you.
Steam Guard isn't required to accept the gift, and having other games or any account activity makes no difference.
If you love co-op chaos
PEAK is perfect for a group that already loves co-op survival and panic-laughing together. If this one clicks, check out its genre cousins: Content Warning, another Landfall co-op hit about filming spooky footage for likes, Chained Together, a climb where everyone is roped together and one fall drags the whole party down, and Lethal Company, a grim co-op about scavenging junk on abandoned moons. All three are about the same thing: a treacherously hard ascent and friends who will absolutely let you down (lovingly).
PEAK is a cheap, wildly replayable co-op game that's tailor-made for a night in with friends. Grab the gift for your region, round up your crew and start climbing.
