Neighbours from Hell Compilation: both classic prank games as one Steam gift
Remember that gleeful little thrill when your neighbour slips on a perfectly placed banana peel? Neighbours from Hell is built entirely around it. You play Woody, sneaking into a grumpy neighbour's home under the eye of hidden TV cameras and rigging a chain of traps โ soaping the stairs, planting tacks, ruining dinner โ all for the ratings of a trashy TV show. This compilation packs both legendary games into one HD remaster and arrives as a Steam gift: a single present that drops the whole duology straight into your library.
What's inside the compilation
Under the hood is the reworked Neighbours back From Hell (2020) edition, which combines the two original games:
- Neighbours from Hell โ the first game, where Woody torments his neighbour right inside the apartment, dreaming up nastier pranks season after season.
- Neighbours from Hell 2: On Vacation โ the sequel, where the neighbour sets off on a cruise and the revenge chase follows him to China, India, Mexico and onto the ship itself.
Both games are redrawn in HD and run at a smooth framerate โ the same wicked charm with a fresher look. This is the full game, not an add-on: you don't need any base version to play.
Why it still plays great
Neighbours from Hell is a stealth-puzzle wrapped in slapstick cartoon comedy. Each episode is a small stage-like room where you time your moves, set traps in the right order and avoid being spotted. Petty? Maybe. Hilarious? Absolutely. It's that rare game you'll happily play solo in the evening or hand to a friend who's already laughing from the couch.
How we deliver the gift
Your purchase arrives as a Steam Gift via our bot. You provide your Steam friend invite link and your account region โ then the bot adds itself, sends the gift and leaves your friends list once it's delivered. There's nothing to accept, and Steam Guard is not required. Delivery usually takes a couple of minutes from checkout.
Two things worth checking
For Steam to accept the gift smoothly, keep two things in mind. First, your Steam account region must match the gift's region โ otherwise Steam simply won't let it through. Second, the game must not already be in your library: a gift can't be accepted for a title you already own. If the friend request doesn't land, it's usually disabled friend requests or an expired link โ send a fresh one and we'll retry.
How the first and second games differ
The gift gives you both games at once, but they have different flavours. The first Neighbours from Hell keeps you within four walls: all the action happens in the neighbour's apartment and stairwell, and the joy is in learning his route and chaining together everyday traps. Neighbours from Hell 2: On Vacation loosens the leash: the neighbour sets off on a round-the-world cruise, and the stages get brighter and more exotic โ a market in India, a beach in Mexico, the deck of a liner. The sequel adds new mechanics like roping other characters into your schemes, so the same "brilliant little menace" feeling comes served in different sauces. Playing them back to back is a treat in itself: you can watch the idea grow from a chamber experiment into a full-blown show.
How a single episode works
The structure is simple and moreish. You're given a stage-like room, a set of objects and a neighbour who follows his own schedule. Your job is to set traps in the right order so he walks straight into them โ without ever being spotted: if he sees you, his anger meter rises and the episode fails. The more pranks that fire in a row, the higher your TV show's "rating" climbs. It isn't a race against the clock but a calm puzzle of observation and timing โ you can sit and plot your move like a chess game, only a funny one.
Where you can play
This is the Steam version for PC (Windows). The game is light on hardware, runs even on modest laptops and feels right at home on Steam Deck โ mouse controls map neatly to the touchpad, and the bite-sized episodes are perfect for short sessions. Once the gift lands in your library it's yours for good: this is a purchase you own outright, not a subscription, and Steam updates and cloud saves work as usual.
If you enjoy these laid-back mischief puzzles
You'll likely click with other cozy single-player adventures full of character โ try SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom โ Rehydrated or the surreal, heartfelt Biomutant from the same publisher, THQ Nordic. Craving pure retro comfort? Take a look at Darksiders Genesis.
The short version
Neighbours from Hell Compilation is two classic prank simulators in one HD edition โ cartoon humour, dozens of puzzle episodes and zero filler. A perfect pick when you want to laugh and feel like a brilliant tiny menace. Order the gift, enter your region and link, and welcome Woody into your library.
