Buy Monster Hunter Rise as a Steam gift
Giant monsters, armour forged from their parts and Wirebug acrobatics β Monster Hunter Rise made Capcomβs legendary hunting series faster and more accessible. Below we break down what the game is, how the editions with the Sunbreak expansion differ, and how to grab it as a Steam gift with no extra hassle.
What Monster Hunter Rise is
It is an action-RPG about hunting colossal monsters from Capcom. Your home base is Kamura Village in a Japanese setting, threatened by a beast invasion called the Rampage. The loop is simple and addictive: take a quest, track a monster, bring it down in dynamic combat, carve it for materials, forge new weapons and armour β and go after bigger prey. Cycle by cycle you grow stronger while the monsters grow deadlier.
Rise stands out from earlier entries with its pace and mobility: hunts are faster, and the vertical maps and acrobatics change the very rhythm of play. The developers drew on Japanese folklore and yokai aesthetics, so both the monsters and Kamura Village are steeped in the flavour of old Japan. At the same time the barrier to entry is noticeably lower than in past series entries β Rise is often recommended as your very first Monster Hunter.
Wirebug and Palamutes: new dynamics
The entryβs signature additions set its character:
- Wirebug β a silk bug that lets you dash in any direction, run up walls, mount monsters and pull off unique silkbind moves for every weapon.
- Palamutes β rideable dog companions: you can ride them across the map, fight and even sharpen your weapon on the move.
- Palicoes β the familiar feline partners that heal, distract and support in battle.
All of this makes moving through the maps swift and the hunts spectacular.
Fourteen weapon types
Rise has fourteen weapon classes, and each is essentially its own game with its own rhythm. The Great Sword is about heavy charged blows, Dual Blades about a frenzied flurry of attacks, the Hunting Horn buffs the team with music, and the Heavy Bowgun keeps its distance. Each weapon also has its own Wirebug silkbind moves. Beginner tip: pick one weapon and master it before spreading yourself across the rest.
Editions and the Sunbreak expansion
Base Rise is the core campaign with Kamura Village. Sunbreak is a major story expansion that adds the Elgado Outpost, Master Rank and formidable new monsters: Malzeno, Lunagaron and Garangolm, known as the "Three Lords", plus the return of beasts from earlier series games. Deluxe editions throw in cosmetics β layered armour, gestures, poses, hairstyles and makeup that change appearance but do not affect stats. Exactly what a given lot includes is always stated in its description.
The gifting flow for Rise
We hand over Rise as a Steam gift, without logging into your account. The order goes like this: you pay, receive a Steam invite link or a friend request from our bot, then it is manual β Steam β Friends β Add a Friend β accept the invite. Once confirmed, the game settles into your library for good. No third-party launchers, no handing over passwords.
Lot currency = gift region
Every lot is tied to a region, and the easiest tell is the currency: roubles mean CIS, tenge mean Kazakhstan, and so on. Take the lot for your Steam account region. Grab the wrong region and Steam will not let you accept the gift, and we refund the money to your internal balance. If the game is already in your library, a duplicate will not be accepted either, and the funds return to your balance. Check region and library in advance β and no surprises.
The progression loop and endgame
The charm of Monster Hunter lies in its addictive loop: hunt β materials β craft β tougher hunt. You do not grind abstract levels β your strength equals your gear. Kill a monster, carve it for parts, forge armour with useful skills and a new weapon from them, and now you are ready to challenge a beast that felt impossible yesterday. Armour skills combine into builds for a specific style: some invest in weapon sharpness, some in survivability, some in status effects.
Closer to the endgame, the most dangerous monsters and high-rank quests open up, where not only reaction but a well-thought-out set matters. This is where the series truly opens up: hunts honed to perfection, the chase for rare rewards and the eternal urge to assemble one more perfect build.
Rampage mode and special quests
Beyond regular hunts, Rise has the Rampage siege mode: waves of monsters storm a stronghold while you place defensive weaponry, repel the assault and protect the gate β a great excuse to play co-op with friends. On top of that, event quests appear regularly with unique rewards and cosmetics. All of this breaks up the usual loop and gives you reasons to return to the game again and again.
Co-op and online
You can hunt solo or in co-op for up to four players. Invite friends to specific quests or join others via the gathering system β group hunts against top monsters feel completely different. For comfortable online play a stable connection and Steam friends help you form a party quickly. And if no teammates are around, you can bring Palico and Palamute companions on solo outings, so you will never be bored.
Why buying here is convenient
You get a full Steam licence with all updates, achievements and cloud saves. No sign-up on outside services is needed, Steam Guard is not required to accept the gift, and on a region mismatch or duplicate the money returns to your balance. Got a store promo code? Enter it in the cart before payment and the discount recalculates itself.
What else to bring to the hunt
