Metro Redux Bundle: two stories of the Moscow metro in one set
Metro Redux Bundle is a set of two cult post-apocalyptic first-person shooters: Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux. Both games were made by 4A Games and published by Deep Silver, rebuilt on the updated 4A Engine and sold here as a single Steam activation key. You buy one code β and both games, with all their released add-ons, land in your library.
The story unfolds in Moscow after a nuclear war, where the remnants of humanity huddle in the subway tunnels, turning stations into city-states. Above ground: radiation, mutants and anomalies; below: factions, bullets used as money, and an endless struggle for air, water and a place underground. The series grew out of Dmitry Glukhovsky's novels, and its signature trait is a heavy, dense atmosphere where every bullet counts.
What's in the set
The set is built so you don't have to buy anything separately:
- Metro 2033 Redux β the reworked first game. Besides improved graphics and performance, it brings in mechanics from the second game: weapon customization, stealth kills and non-lethal takedowns. This is the story of Artyom, who travels across the whole metro to warn the survivors of a new threat.
- Metro Last Light Redux β the reworked second game with all its released DLC. A continuation of the 2033 events: new locations, an expanded arsenal, and extra story and challenge chapters from the downloadable content are already built into the Redux version.
In Redux, both games offer two play styles β βSurvival,β focused on scarcity and tension, and βSpartan,β with more action-driven combat β so you can pick your pace right from the menu.
How Redux differs from the originals
Redux is more than a cosmetic remaster. 4A Games moved both games onto a fresh version of its engine: reworked character models, animations, lighting and effects, plus higher performance. The biggest gain for the first game is the gameplay mechanics from Last Light that the original Metro 2033 lacked. If you played the originals long ago, the Redux versions feel noticeably more modern and polished.
How to activate the key
This is a Steam activation key. Launch the Steam client, click βGamesβ in the bottom-left corner and choose βActivate a Product on Steam,β then enter the code you received. After confirmation both games β Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux β appear in your library as separate entries, ready to download. No input fields are required from you: you simply get the code after payment.
Activation region
This key is intended for the CIS region and activates on a Steam account set to that region. If your account region differs, Steam won't accept the code, so check your region in advance β it's the most common reason a key fails to activate. There is no alternative βglobalβ version of this listing: get it if your account is in the CIS region.
Which devices to play on
The set contains the PC builds for Steam. On Steam Deck and Linux the games usually run through the Proton compatibility layer; the exact compatibility status is easy to check on each game's Steam page after activation. On Windows PCs both games run natively.
Who it's for
The Metro Redux Bundle is a great entry into the series: for a single key you get two story-rich games with a dense atmosphere and resource management where bullets literally act as currency. If you want to continue the story after these two parts, take a look at Metro Exodus, where the action leaves the tunnels for the surface. Fans of grim post-apocalypse from the same Eastern-European shooter school should check out S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Our full catalog of Steam keys and gifts for the series sits in the neighboring Metro cards.
Atmosphere and feel
The main reason people still love Metro isn't the gunfights β it's the sense of place. The dim flashlight, the hissing gasmask filter you have to swap in time, the iced-over or flooded tunnels, the survivors talking on the stations β everything pulls you in. The game keeps posing a choice: slip past quietly or fight, spend your rare military-grade rounds (also the best currency) or save them. These two remasters give you a complete duology with a clear beginning and continuation, without having to figure out what's included in which version.
What you get with the purchase
One Steam key that unlocks both Redux games with all DLC. No subscriptions and no extra purchases: once activated, you play as much as you like and the games stay on your Steam account forever. Before checking out, make sure your account region is CIS, and you're ready to descend into the metro.
