Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance — Steam Key for PC
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a sharp, fast and supremely stylish hack-and-slash built by PlatinumGames in partnership with Konami. Forget the stealth of the main series: here you play cyborg ninja Raiden and cut down everything that moves with your signature High-Frequency Blade. The core mechanic is Blade Mode: time slows, you pick the exact angle and line of the cut, and slice enemies, drones and even towering war machines into dozens of precise pieces. Buying our global Steam key gets you the full PC version of the game, dropped straight into your Steam library.
What the game is about
The story takes place a few years after Metal Gear Solid 4. Raiden works for a private military company and gets caught up in a plot involving cyborg terrorists, manufactured wars and personal revenge. Beneath the brutal action sits the series' trademark question: what does it mean to be human when your body is a machine. The gameplay, however, stays arcade-fast — parries, finishers that restore health and energy, and spectacular boss fights, each of them memorable in its own right.
What's in the Steam edition
The PC version of Revengeance is the complete edition from the start. Alongside the main campaign it already includes every extra that shipped as separate DLC on consoles:
- Blade Wolf — a prequel chapter about the combat wolf robot LQ-84i.
- Jetstream — a standalone chapter playing as Sam (Jetstream Sam) with his own combat style.
- VR Missions — a set of challenges for drilling mechanics and combos.
- Custom body upgrades for Raiden — alternate looks and loadouts.
So there's nothing extra to buy on top of this key: everything above activates together with the base game from a single code. That's a meaningful difference from the console releases, where some of this content had to be purchased separately.
Combat system and bosses
The heart of Revengeance is its parry system. There's no dedicated block button: to deflect a blow you push the stick toward the incoming attack and strike at the same time. Nail the timing and the game opens up completely — even the fiercest enemies turn into a rhythmic dance of strikes and counters. On top of that sits Zandatsu, the signature finisher: in Blade Mode you cut an enemy open, rip out an energy module and instantly restore health and energy. That makes aggressive play more rewarding than playing it safe. The bosses are a particular point of pride: the duels with Sam, the fight against the colossal Metal Gear Excelsus, and a final confrontation that fans still quote and meme to this day. Each boss is its own little genre with its own rules.
How to activate the key in Steam
Activation is dead simple. Open the Steam client, in the top menu pick “Games” → “Activate a Product on Steam”, enter the code we send you and confirm. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance then appears in your library with all its DLC content, ready to download. The key is global, so your account region doesn't matter and no VPN is needed. If the code isn't accepted on the first try, make sure you've copied it in full with no stray spaces — that's the most common minor hiccup.
Region and platform
This is a key specifically for Steam on Windows PC. Once activated the game is permanently tied to your Steam account — it's a purchase you own, not a subscription or rental. The key's global status means it activates anywhere in the world without restrictions or workarounds.
Who it's for
Revengeance is first and foremost for players who love fast, technical action with a high skill ceiling: tight parry timing, aggressive play and showpiece duels. If you enjoy PlatinumGames slashers, check out Bayonetta from the same studio. Character-action fans should also look at Devil May Cry 5. And if you came here for Hideo Kojima's universe and the Metal Gear series, take a look at Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
Quick answers
The key is global, no region lock. DLC is already inside. Platform is Steam (PC, Windows). A controller is supported and arguably better for this combat. On Steam Deck the game usually runs via Proton, though officially it's a Windows title. The key arrives as a code — no input fields are required from you.
