Medieval Dynasty โ build your dynasty in a harsh medieval world
Medieval Dynasty blends survival, settlement building and role-playing into one game where you start with empty hands in early-medieval Europe and turn a patch of forest into a thriving village. You chop wood, hunt, raise your first hut, plow a field โ then hire villagers, get married, have children and pass everything on to your heir. It was made by Render Cube and published by Toplitz Productions; the full 1.0 release landed on September 23, 2021 after a year in Early Access.
Here you buy a global Steam key for the full game. Activate the code in Steam and Medieval Dynasty is yours forever, with every future patch included.
What this key gives you
The key unlocks the complete base game: the story mode, free-play sandbox and the co-op map The Oxbow. This is not a demo or an add-on โ it is the whole game. Once activated, every system is open to you: survival, building, farming, hunting, trading, family and growing your dynasty across generations.
How the gameplay works
The game keeps you honest with four stats โ food, water, health and stamina โ and forces you to plan around the seasons. Hot summers and freezing winters demand supplies: if you don't stock food and firewood, you may not survive the cold. You build a home from a simple dugout to a sprawling farmstead, craft tools and weapons, plant crops, raise animals and trade with neighboring settlements.
- Building: from a first hut to a full village with homes for villagers, barns, a smithy and farms.
- Survival: watch hunger, thirst, temperature and fatigue, and stockpile for winter.
- Crafting: make tools, weapons, furniture and clothing from gathered resources.
- Farming and hunting: sow and harvest crops, raise livestock, track game in the woods.
- Villagers and family: build relationships with NPCs, marry, raise children and hire workers for your village.
A dynasty across generations
The signature feature is inheritance. Your character isn't immortal: you start a family, have a child, and in time the game lets you hand control to your heir and continue the bloodline. So everything you build isn't just a base โ it's the foundation of a dynasty that outlives the hero.
Co-op on The Oxbow
Medieval Dynasty has a full co-op mode: on the separate map The Oxbow up to four players can play together, each with their own character. Skills are leveled per player, but dynasty points and progress points that unlock buildings are shared across the group โ so growing the settlement is more fun together. Co-op arrived on PC on December 7, 2023, so it's already part of this key.
How to activate the key in Steam
It's straightforward: open the Steam client, click "+ Add a Game" at the bottom left โ "Activate a Product on Steam", enter the code you received, and the game downloads to your library. The key is global and activates worldwide with no regional restrictions. The game runs on Windows; on Steam Deck and via Proton on Linux it usually works, but officially it's a desktop title.
Skills, reputation and character growth
Whatever you do โ chopping wood, hunting, cooking, building or dealing with villagers โ your character earns experience and levels up the matching skills across several trees. As your dynasty grows, new building types and technologies unlock, so you climb from a mud hut to a proper estate with workshops and hired workers. Alongside that you take on story quests and NPC requests, raise your reputation with neighboring settlements and earn coin through trade to reinvest in your village.
Seasons and the rhythm of play
Time in Medieval Dynasty moves through seasons โ spring, summer, autumn, winter โ and each sets its own rhythm. You sow in spring, harvest and stockpile through summer and autumn, then survive winter on your stores and hunting. This cycle gives a calm but meaningful pace: you always plan a season or two ahead, and every choice โ build a barn, hire a hunter, lay out a new field โ pays off several in-game months later.
Who it's for
If you enjoy calm but deep survival focused on building and homesteading rather than constant combat, this is your game. Love slowly shaping your own place, watching a wasteland become a village and planning years ahead โ Medieval Dynasty will hold you for a long time.
