FAQ

Life is Strange: Double Exposure โ€” buy a Steam key for PC

Max Caulfield is back. Life is Strange: Double Exposure is a narrative adventure by Deck Nine, published by Square Enix and released on October 29, 2024. Here you buy a Steam key for the full PC version: activate the code in Steam, download the game and play the whole new story with no cuts and no subscription. If you were snapping Polaroids in Arcadia Bay back in 2015, this chapter is a direct continuation of a beloved heroine's journey.

What this Double Exposure key gives you

You are buying an activation code for the full base game with all five story chapters. We sell the key itself, not access to someone else's account: once activated, the game is bound to your Steam profile for good. No "an operator will log into your account" nonsense โ€” you own the purchase end to end. Any cosmetic extras depend on the specific lot, so double-check the product title before paying.

Story: a murder in the snow and two realities

Years after the first game, Max works as a photographer-in-residence at the snowy Caledon University. Her new close friend Safi is found murdered in the snow. Trying to rewind time out of old habit to save her, Max instead flings open a door to a parallel timeline where Safi is still alive. But the killer is ready to strike again โ€” in both versions of the world. You run the investigation on two fronts at once, gather clues, talk to people and decide who to trust.

Two timelines and Max's new powers

Max's old rewind ability has mostly atrophied โ€” the writers compare it to a foreign language you forget. In its place come fresh mechanics. Pulse gives a brief glimpse into the neighboring universe without leaving the current one. Shift lets her cross fully into the other timeline. And "entangling" objects moves items between worlds. That is the core of the puzzles: you sometimes have to find the same character in both realities, eavesdrop on a conversation from the other timeline, or carry an object across the border between worlds. The "living" timeline feels bright and carefree, while the "dead" one physically appears to rot โ€” the campus dims along with the grief.

What is included

The key unlocks a complete campaign โ€” a finished story with choices, consequences and multiple endings, as the series does. It is not an episodic teaser: every chapter is available right after activation. Cosmetics and pre-order bonuses, when a lot includes them, are always listed in the description, so you know exactly what you pay for.

Where Double Exposure released and which version this is

Double Exposure launched on PC (Windows), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. Our product is a Steam key for PC. It does not cover console versions, so if you need the game on PlayStation or Switch, that is a different product. A modern mid-range PC handles it comfortably โ€” check the system requirements on the Steam page before buying.

Activating Double Exposure: a couple of clicks in Steam

It takes a minute. Launch the Steam client, click "Add a Game" at the bottom left, choose "Activate a Product on Steam", enter the code and confirm. The game appears in your library; wait for the download and dive into the story. No third-party launchers: activation happens directly in Steam.

Where the code arrives and how delivery works

The code is sent to the email you entered at checkout and is duplicated right inside the order on the site. Even if the email hides in spam, the key stays visible in your purchase history. Delivery usually takes a couple of minutes after payment is confirmed; if a payment needs a longer check, we try to sort it out promptly โ€” no promises of exact seconds, just honest handling.

Region, sanctions and video-based returns

The lot's region is stated in the description. A global key suits most countries; in our experience it also activates in disputed regions, but we will not vouch for every case because of Steam restrictions. On returns: a key dispute is reviewed only with a video โ€” one continuous take from purchase to the activation attempt, with no editing, cuts or pauses. This rule protects both you and us from code swapping. If the recording is broken up, the key is treated as non-refundable.

The Life is Strange legacy

The original 2015 Life is Strange turned Max Caulfield and her rewind power into an icon, and the whole series into a benchmark for choice-driven interactive drama. Double Exposure is the first major game to put Max back in the lead: Deck Nine, authors of the prequel Before the Storm, carefully continue her arc years later. You do not have to play the earlier games, but series fans will catch references to the Arcadia Bay events and appreciate how the heroine โ€” and her view of her own gift โ€” has grown.

Choices, consequences and atmosphere

Like the whole series, Double Exposure rests on decisions: dialogue branches, moral dilemmas and actions that echo later. The bet is on mood rather than action โ€” the melancholic winter campus, well-drawn characters and the series' signature slow pace. The two-timeline mechanic adds puzzles on top: sometimes a scene's outcome depends on which reality you are in at the right moment and what you manage to carry between worlds. It is a game you want to live in, not rush through for the credits.

Who Maxโ€™s story is made for and why get it here

Double Exposure is for players who value stories with choices, living dialogue and atmosphere over pure action. If you like slow-burn narrative adventures with a detective mystery and a supernatural twist, this is for you. You can start without knowing the earlier games. If you also crave big branching role-playing tales, check out Baldur's Gate 3. And if you do not have a Steam account for the needed region or simply want to top up your wallet, a Steam gift card has your back. Buying from us means a genuine key below retail, with no access to your account and no mandatory registration.
