Trying to rewind time out of old habit to save her, Max instead flings open a door to a parallel timeline where Safi is still alive. But the killer is ready to strike again — in both versions of the world. You run the investigation on two fronts at once, gather clues, talk to people and decide who to trust.
Two timelines and Max's new powers
Max's old rewind ability has mostly atrophied — the writers compare it to a foreign language you forget. In its place come fresh mechanics. Pulse gives a brief glimpse into the neighboring universe without leaving the current one. Shift lets her cross fully into the other timeline. And "entangling" objects moves items between worlds. That is the core of the puzzles: you sometimes have to find the same character in both realities, eavesdrop on a conversation from the other timeline, or carry an object across the border between worlds. The "living" timeline feels bright and carefree, while the "dead" one physically appears to rot — the campus dims along with the grief.
What is included

Like the whole series, Double Exposure rests on decisions: dialogue branches, moral dilemmas and actions that echo later. The bet is on mood rather than action — the melancholic winter campus, well-drawn characters and the series' signature slow pace. The two-timeline mechanic adds puzzles on top: sometimes a scene's outcome depends on which reality you are in at the right moment and what you manage to carry between worlds. It is a game you want to live in, not rush through for the credits.
