Le Mans Ultimate: the official 24 Hours of Le Mans simulator
Le Mans Ultimate isn't just another racing game — it's the official simulator of the FIA World Endurance Championship and the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. It's built by Dutch studio Studio 397, the team behind rFactor 2, and published by Motorsport Games. If you love a wheel that telegraphs every bump in the tarmac, where rain reshapes your line and fast prototypes share the track with slower GT cars, this is your game. Here you get it as a Steam gift: place the order and the base version arrives straight in your library.
What the base version includes
The Le Mans Ultimate base game is a complete endurance-racing package right away. It includes 17 cars across three classes: top-tier Hypercar prototypes, the GT-class LMGT3 machines and the LMP2 midfield, all with more than 200 real WEC team liveries. There's plenty to drive: seven circuits in the base — Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Sebring International Raceway, Bahrain International Circuit, Algarve International Circuit (Portimão), Fuji Speedway and, of course, Circuit de la Sarthe — the famous 13-km Le Mans layout with the Mulsanne straight.
Why it's hardcore in the best way
Le Mans Ultimate runs on the rFactor 2 physics engine, and you feel it. You have to manage tyres and fuel over long stints, plan pit stops, race at night and in the rain, and coexist with cars from other classes. This isn't an arcade racer where you can attack every corner flat out — the game rewards smoothness and understanding your car. But when you nail a clean lap around La Sarthe at sunset, the feeling is unmistakable.
Single player and online
You can start two ways. Single Player Race Weekend is your testing ground: try the cars, dial in setups and learn the circuits at your own pace against the AI. The online mode runs on the RaceControl system with ratings and scheduled events, where you go wheel-to-wheel with real opponents from around the world. The endurance format truly shines in longer races, where consistency over distance matters as much as raw pace.
Version 1.0 and the road ahead
On 22 July 2025, Le Mans Ultimate left early access and reached full version 1.0. For the launch, the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR LMH and the Mercedes-AMG LMGT3 were added to the base game for free. Studio 397 keeps developing the game with updates and seasonal content, so the grid and calendar only grow over time. Extra circuits like Imola, Interlagos, COTA and Lusail are sold as separate DLC on Steam — but the base version has more than enough content to get started.
Car classes: how Hypercar differs from LMGT3
Le Mans Ultimate mixes cars of very different natures, and that's the heart of endurance racing. Hypercar is the top prototype class, successor to LMP1: huge downforce, hybrid systems and blistering straight-line speed. LMGT3 cars are grown from road-going supercars: Aston Martin Vantage, BMW M4, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Ferrari 296, Ford Mustang, Lamborghini Huracán, Lexus RC F, McLaren 720S, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche 911 GT3 R. They're slower through corners and off the line, but there are more of them on track. The LMP2 class is the sweet spot: light open-cockpit prototypes that are great for learning endurance racing. When you pass a GT3 on the Mulsanne straight and then a Hypercar reels you in through the chicane, you understand why this discipline is all about respecting traffic.
Who it's for and what you need
Le Mans Ultimate is honest about it: this is a simulator for players who want depth. You can drive on a gamepad, but the full experience comes alive with a force-feedback wheel and a pedal set — that's how the game communicates grip, lockups and how the car behaves on the limit. You don't have to be an esports pro: Single Player Race Weekend lets you learn the tracks and setups with no pressure. If you've played rFactor 2, Assetto Corsa or iRacing before, you'll feel right at home, because it's built on the same sim-racing philosophy.
How we deliver the gift
We send Le Mans Ultimate as a Steam gift via a bot. We need two things from you: your Steam friend invite link and your account region. The bot adds itself as your friend, sends the gift (usually within a couple of minutes) and removes itself after delivery — no need to accept anything, and Steam Guard isn't required either. Two important conditions: your Steam account region must match the gift region, and the game must not already be in your library — otherwise Steam simply won't let you accept the gift.
