It is a big management sim set in the Jurassic World universe: you create dinosaurs, build a park for them and run an entire prehistoric entertainment empire. What the game is and why it is so absorbing

The Jurassic World Evolution series combines two pleasures: the thrill of dinosaurs and the joy of building management. You do not just place enclosures — you recreate ancient animals through genetics, watch over their needs, comfort and health, build infrastructure for visitors and constantly balance spectacle against safety. After all, dinosaurs are not furniture: neglect a fence or their conditions and a predator breaks loose. It is exactly this mix of creation and managed chaos that makes the game so hard to put down.

What is new in the third entry

Frontier noticeably expanded the formula. The headline addition: for the first time in the series, dinosaurs come in male, female and juvenile forms — almost every species in the large roster has its own sex and age variants. This changes both the look of the park and the logic of breeding animals. The creative side got a big boost too:

  • Modular building — structures and objects now assemble more flexibly, letting you decorate the park in more detail.
  • Expanded terrain tools — as in other Frontier games (Planet Zoo, Planet Coaster), you can reshape the landscape thoroughly to fit your vision.
  • A large species roster — dozens of prehistoric animals to breed and house in your park.

All of it grants noticeably more freedom than previous entries and pleases both perfectionist builders and players who just want to watch the dinosaurs.

Modes: campaign and sandbox

The game has two main approaches. The story campaign puts you in the role of a park manager: you solve challenges around safety, entertainment and species conservation while gradually mastering the mechanics. The sandbox mode removes limits and leaves everything to your imagination — build your dream park with no budget pressure or threats. The campaign is great for easing into the game and getting context; the sandbox is for creating to your heart’s content.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 editions

🔴 The key point: the base game is in every edition. The difference is in the extra content.

  • Standard Edition — the full base game with all core mechanics, the campaign and the sandbox.
  • Deluxe Edition — the base game plus several extra dinosaur species (among them Protoceratops, Guanlong, Thanatosdrakon and Concavenator), as well as bonus skins and decorative items.
  • Premium Edition — the variant that bundles the maximum content in one pack, for those who want everything at once.

If you just want to play, Standard is enough. Deluxe and Premium make sense if extra species and cosmetics matter to you; they do not affect the core gameplay or balance.

Russian language — an important note

Here we will be honest so you are not disappointed after buying. Based on the declared language list, Jurassic World Evolution 3 does not currently include Russian localization — a difference from the first two entries in the series, which had Russian. The interface is available in English and several other languages. The game remains understandable thanks to clear icons and menus, but the text and tooltips are not in Russian.
