Hollow Knight โ a Steam gift with the full game inside
Hollow Knight is a hand-drawn Metroidvania from tiny Australian studio Team Cherry, released on PC on 24 February 2017. As the nameless, nail-wielding Knight you descend into Hallownest โ a fallen underground kingdom of bugs, once thriving and now haunted by a mysterious infection. There are no quest markers shouting where to go: you get a torn map, a nail and a quiet world where every new room is a discovery. With this product you receive a Steam gift of the full game, and every free content pack is already built in โ nothing else to buy.
What Hallownest is and why it swallows your time
The map of Hallownest is enormous and connected like a single organism. The green paths of Greenpath flow into the echoing Forgotten Crossroads, then onward to the rain-soaked City of Tears, the poisonous Royal Waterways, the blazing Crystal Peak and dozens more corners. Every zone has its own look and sound, carried by Christopher Larkin's score that drifts on cello and erupts on organ during boss fights. You constantly unlock new abilities โ a dash, a double jump, a downward strike โ and realise that half the rooms you already saw are now open in a new way. It's the classic Metroidvania loop, polished to a shine.
Combat, charms and fair difficulty
Fighting in Hollow Knight is simple to describe and deep to master: strike with your nail, gather Soul, then heal or burn it on spells. Build customisation lives in Charms โ combine them in limited slots to turn the Knight into a fragile mage, a sturdy melee bruiser or a Soul-hungry duellist. The bosses are the game's pride: Hornet, the Soul Master, the Mantis Lords, the Watcher Knights and the late-game trials make you learn timings instead of out-numbering them. The game is fair: almost every death is your own mistake, and almost every boss falls once you finally read its moves.
What's in the gift: the base game and every free pack
After launch Team Cherry released four major free content packs, and they all come with the base game โ no separate purchase required:
- Hidden Dreams โ new dream bosses and reflex challenges.
- The Grimm Troupe โ a quest line with Grimm's travelling circus and one of the most stylish bosses in the game.
- Lifeblood โ an update with extra content and refinements.
- Godmaster โ a huge final pack with the Hall of Gods and boss-rush gauntlets for those who still want more.
On consoles this bundle was once shipped as the Voidheart Edition, but on PC it's simply part of the game. So the gift you're buying is the complete Hollow Knight with all of its content.
How delivery works and why region matters
This is a Steam Gift, not a key. Once you place the order, our bot adds itself as your friend via your invite link, sends the gift, and leaves your friend list after delivery โ no manual request to accept. The whole send usually takes a couple of minutes. Steam Guard is not required to receive the gift. There are two conditions Steam itself enforces: your account region must match the gift region, and Hollow Knight must not already be in your library โ you can't be gifted a game you already own. So enter your real region at checkout and make sure the account doesn't have the game yet.
Hardware and Steam Deck
Hollow Knight is light on requirements and runs smoothly on almost any modern PC or laptop. It's rated fully compatible with the Steam Deck, with native controller support, so diving into Hallownest from the couch feels great. Windows is supported, alongside macOS and Linux builds.
If you fall for the bug kingdom
Finished Hallownest and want more? The direct sequel is Hollow Knight: Silksong, where you play as Hornet in a new kingdom. If you love high difficulty and replay value, look at Hades and its roguelite runs, while Dead Cells delivers fast, punchy platforming. All three are about mastery rather than grind, just like Hollow Knight itself.
The short version of this purchase
You're getting a Steam gift of the full Hollow Knight with every free content pack. Delivery is handled by our bot via your invite link, usually within a couple of minutes, with no Steam Guard. The key things: enter your region and make sure the game isn't already in your library. After that โ it's just the nail, the map and the silence of Hallownest.
