Hi-Fi RUSH: a rhythm-action brawler where the whole world moves to the beat
Hi-Fi RUSH is a rhythm-action game from Tango Gameworks (the studio behind the horror series The Evil Within), released on January 25, 2023 and instantly one of the most stylish surprises of its year. You play as Chai, a cocky wannabe rock star who accidentally fuses an MP3 player into his chest during a botched experiment at the evil Vandelay corporation. Now the world around him literally pulses to the music: the environments bob on the beat, enemies attack in rhythm, and Chai's strikes land perfectly when you feel the groove.
With this item you get a Steam gift: we send the game straight to your account via a bot. You can pick between the Standard edition and the Deluxe Edition with extra cosmetics and an upgrade boost.
Why people fall for Hi-Fi RUSH from the first scene
The game's signature is that you can't mistake it for anything else. Bright cel-shading like a playable cartoon, hand-drawn comic cutscenes and a soundtrack that makes you want to fight. Combat is built around rhythm: you don't have to nail every beat to win, but the tighter you hold the tempo, the stronger your combos, the higher your rank and the flashier your finishers. Chai is joined by a crew β the robot cat 808, hacker Peppermint, the big guy Macaron β each weaving their own moves into your combos.
What's in the Standard edition
The Standard edition is the full story campaign in its entirety: the whole fight against Vandelay, every corporate boss, all unlockable moves, the ranking system and the post-game challenge mode. Nothing cut β you get the game exactly as the developers intended.
What the Deluxe Edition adds
The Deluxe Edition is the same full game plus the Deluxe Edition Upgrade Pack. It includes:
- two extra Chai outfits (each with a swappable robot arm, scarf, jacket, trousers and shoes you can mix and match with other cosmetics);
- seven bonus Chai t-shirts;
- an β808β-themed guitar skin;
- an β808β alternate look;
- 20,000 Gears for unlocking combat skills and upgrades.
One detail worth knowing: the 20,000 Gears are credited immediately, while the cosmetics only become wearable after you clear the opening stage β Chai changes outfits in the Hideout. So Deluxe is about style and a head start on upgrades, not new story content.
How we deliver the gift
Delivery is handled by our bot. You leave your Steam friend invite link and your account region, the bot adds itself, sends the gift β usually in a couple of minutes β and automatically leaves your friends list after delivery. You don't need to accept the friend request manually; the bot does everything. Steam Guard is not required β the gift will go through even on an account without it.
Two conditions Steam needs to accept the gift
First: your Steam account region must match the gift region, otherwise Steam simply won't accept it. Second: Hi-Fi RUSH must not already be in that account's library, because Steam won't let you accept a gift for a game you already own. So pick the variant for your region and send it to an account that doesn't have this game yet. And don't forget to allow friend requests in your profile settings.
Does it run on Steam Deck
Yes. Hi-Fi RUSH is light on hardware yet visually rich, and it runs great on Steam Deck and modest laptops. The rhythm gameplay with a steady frame rate locked to the beat feels exactly as intended in handheld mode.
If you love rhythm and style
If you like bright action with personality, check out The Evil Within from the same studio Tango Gameworks (a very different, horror-driven mood), or the high-speed shooter DOOM Eternal, where music also drives the tempo. For more of publisher Bethesda's signature stylish violence, take a look at Dishonored.
Story and characters
It all kicks off when Chai signs up for βProject Armstrongβ to get a robot arm, but the experiment goes sideways: his embedded MP3 player fuses with the implant, and suddenly he's flagged as a defective product marked for disposal. Instead of giving up, he rallies a crew of fellow misfits and tears through Vandelay floor by floor, taking on colorful bosses β the corporation's department heads. It's a light, witty story about friendship and rebellion, told with great humor and excellent voice acting.
In short
Hi-Fi RUSH is a musical action game you fall for in the first ten minutes: bright visuals, on-beat brawls and a killer soundtrack. Take Standard for the game itself or Deluxe for the cosmetics and an upgrade head start β and we'll send the gift straight to your Steam.
