Halo Infinite โ Master Chief's campaign on PC via a Steam gift
Halo Infinite is the reboot of the legendary series by 343 Industries and Xbox Game Studios, released on December 8, 2021. After twenty years of fighting for humanity, Master Chief straps the helmet back on and lands on the shattered Zeta Halo to stop the Banished. Here you're buying the story campaign specifically โ the paid single-player part โ and you receive it as a Steam gift straight into your library. Halo Infinite's online multiplayer is separate and free-to-play: it downloads on its own and isn't part of this product, because it doesn't need to be โ it's free for everyone anyway.
What the Halo Infinite campaign is
The campaign is a full single-player adventure across an open stretch of Zeta Halo. For the first time the series steps away from linear corridors toward a semi-open world: you decide which Banished bases to clear, which FOB beacons to capture and in what order to push the story missions. The standout new toy is the Grappleshot: a grappling hook to swing up to a ledge, yank toward an enemy, snatch a weapon or grenade and turn a firefight into pure acrobatics. The classic Halo gameplay loop โ the recharging shield, picking weapons off the ground, weighty vehicle physics โ is all here and ticking like clockwork.
Story and atmosphere
The story follows on from Halo 5, but it's framed so a newcomer doesn't need to know the whole saga by heart. Chief comes to after a defeat, finds a new pilot ally and a mysterious AI named the Weapon, and piece by piece works out what happened to the UNSC and why the ring lies in ruins. The tone is more personal and intimate than past entries: less galaxy-spanning bombast, more about Chief himself. The soundtrack brings back the series' iconic choral themes that give goosebumps to anyone who played the original trilogy.
The campaign is not DLC: what to know
Don't get it twisted: the campaign requires no "base game" โ it is the paid part of Halo Infinite. The free multiplayer exists as its own separate entry and downloads on its own, but it isn't needed to launch the single-player story. Buying this gift gets you the full story mode: play solo or in two-to-four-player co-op (network co-op was added after launch). Progress, Chief's gear upgrades and clearing the world โ it's all yours for good, like any normal Steam purchase.
How Steam gift delivery works
We deliver the campaign as a Steam Gift through a bot. You provide two things: your Steam friend invite link (s.team/p/...) and your account region. Everything else happens on its own: the bot adds itself as your friend, sends the gift and removes itself from your friends after delivery. You don't need to accept the friend request manually, and Steam Guard isn't required either. Delivery usually takes a couple of minutes from the moment you order. All that's left is to hit "Accept Gift" in Steam โ and the campaign drops into your library.
Region and conditions โ no surprises
Steam accepts the gift only if your account region matches the gift region, so pick the option for your region. And one more key condition: the Halo Infinite campaign must not already be in this account's library, otherwise Steam won't let you accept a gift for a game you already own. That's the most common reason a gift "doesn't arrive," so check it in advance. Your profile privacy settings must allow friend invites โ otherwise the bot can't reach you.
Why a gift instead of a key
Halo Infinite on Steam is sold as a gift rather than a regional activation key, so the mechanic is different: you don't enter a code via "Activate a Product on Steam" โ you accept a ready gift into your account. It's convenient: nothing to dig out of an activation menu, the gift simply appears in your Steam notifications. The main thing is to check the region ahead of time and make sure the game isn't already on the account.
If you love Halo and Xbox shooters
Finished the campaign and want more of the Halo universe or other Xbox Game Studios hits? Check out Halo: The Master Chief Collection โ a bundle of the classic entries from Combat Evolved to Halo 4. From hard-hitting shooters in the same ecosystem, Gears 5 hits the spot, and if you'd rather swap guns for a wheel and an open world, try Forza Horizon 5. They all live in our catalog and order just as easily.
