Gorilla Tag β€” Steam Gift for PC VR

About the game

Gorilla Tag is a frantic VR game of tag where you're a legless gorilla: run, jump and climb through the jungle by swinging your arms. No buttons, no teleport β€” just momentum. Tag, Infection, Hunt and Paintbrawl in cross-play lobbies with friends. You get the full PC-VR copy delivered to your Steam as a gift.

Once the gift is delivered it cannot be refunded. If Steam rejects the gift due to region mismatch, the full amount is returned to your site balance.

Steam gift: your account region must match the gift region, and you must not already own the game. A VR headset is required.

FAQ

Gorilla Tag: arm-swing tag that took over VR

Gorilla Tag is one of the most addictive multiplayer VR games of recent years, and its hook is simple: you're a legless gorilla. You move with your arms only β€” push off the ground with your palms, grab trees and rocks, build speed and fling yourself through the jungle on momentum. No movement buttons, no teleport, no thumbsticks β€” just your real motions. The first few minutes you'll flail and faceplant; an hour later you're vaulting through the canopy like a seasoned primate and dodging chasers with stylish swings. Buy from us and you get the full PC-VR copy delivered to your Steam as a gift.

How it actually plays

The whole game is built around one brilliant idea β€” arm-based locomotion. Want to run forward? Paddle your arms backward. Want to climb a cliff? Push off and grab. Want to brake hard? Plant your palms. It's absurdly intuitive yet surprisingly deep: skilled players pull off lines and jumps that look like cheating to a newcomer. Mastering the movement is the whole joy β€” you're literally relearning how to move.

Modes and what to do in the jungle

Gorilla Tag has several modes across the same maps:

  • Tag β€” the classic: the β€œit” gorilla tags others by touch while everyone flees. Small lobbies, pure adrenaline.
  • Infection β€” the big-lobby format: the infected chase survivors and the horde grows before your eyes.
  • Hunt β€” everyone has a target to catch and a hunter on their tail; a tense, sneaky mode.
  • Paintbrawl β€” team paintball: lob paint orbs, a hit knocks you out.

There are several maps β€” a forest hub, caves, a city, icy and other themed zones, each with its own climbing routes and secrets. It's cross-platform: from PC VR you share lobbies with players on standalone Quest.

What the gift includes

You get the full Gorilla Tag game for PC VR β€” all modes, all maps, full online. In-game there are cosmetics (colors, hats, accessories for your gorilla) bought with the Shiny Rocks currency; at the time of writing the Steam purchase comes with a starter stash of Shiny Rocks, but that's a publisher bonus, not the reason to buy β€” you buy it for the gameplay itself, which doesn't get old.

What you need to play

The one mandatory requirement is a VR headset. Gorilla Tag is VR-only and simply won't launch on PC without a headset. Meta Quest (2, 3, Pro) via Quest Link or Air Link, Valve Index, HTC Vive, any Windows Mixed Reality device β€” anything SteamVR sees will work. You'll want a bit of clear space around you: you'll be swinging your arms a lot, so move the lamps and mugs out of reach. The game is light on hardware, so almost any modern VR-ready PC runs it without trouble.

How gift delivery works

We deliver the game as a Steam Gift via a bot. We need two things from you: your Steam friend-invite link (grab it from your profile via β€œAdd Friend”, looks like s.team/p/...) and your account region. After payment, our bot sends you a friend request, waits, and delivers the gift β€” usually within a couple of minutes. You don't need to accept the friend request; the bot handles everything and automatically removes itself after delivery. Steam Guard is not required for this.

Two important conditions β€” read before ordering

First: your Steam account region must match the gift region. Steam won't accept a gift issued in a different region, so tell us your real region at checkout and we'll pick the right one. Second: Gorilla Tag must not already be in the account's library. Steam won't let you accept a gift for a game you already own β€” this is the #1 reason gifts seem to β€œnot arrive”. If something goes wrong (the bot didn't add you), it's almost always blocked friend requests or an expired link β€” fix your profile settings and refresh the link.

Who it's for

Gorilla Tag is the perfect gateway to social VR: free-spirited fun with friends, wildly addictive, a genuine workout (it's basically cardio), and packed with huge live lobbies at any hour. If you love movement, cozy multiplayer and don't mind looking silly waving your arms β€” this is your game. If you're into other VR and co-op chaos, check out Orion Drift from the same studio, and social hits like Phasmophobia and Lethal Company.
