FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 — a journey through time in Square Enix's saga sequel
FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 is the direct story sequel to FINAL FANTASY XIII by Square Enix. It launched on Steam on December 11, 2014 as a full PC version. The story picks up a few years after the first game's ending: the world has changed, Lightning has vanished, and her younger sister Serah sets out to uncover the truth alongside Noel, a young hunter from the distant future. Together they leap between eras through time gates to stop a looming collapse of the timeline.
When you buy from us, you receive the full game on your own Steam account as a Steam Gift. This isn't a key you activate manually — we send the game to your library through a friend-invite bot.
What the game is and why it stands out
XIII-2 plays noticeably differently from the first entry: instead of a linear corridor, it has a branching structure with time gates, route choices, and the ability to revisit eras and reshape their state. The Paradigm Shift battle system from FF XIII returns in an upgraded form — you swap party roles on the fly (attack, defense, healing, debuffs) and adapt to the rhythm of each fight.
The biggest new hook is monster-catching. Defeated enemies can join your party as a third member: you level them up, blend their abilities, and build your own roster for different tactics. Add mini-games, time-anomaly puzzles, parallel endings and secret scenes, and you get a far more open and replayable JRPG than the original.
What's included in the Steam version
The Steam PC version isn't a bare-bones release: Square Enix bundled in most of the add-on content that was sold as separate DLC on consoles. It includes extra Coliseum battles against legendary series bosses, a set of alternate outfits for Serah and Noel, weapons, costumes for Mog, and bonus story episodes focused on Lightning, Snow and Sazh.
- Extra Coliseum battles against guest bosses.
- Outfits and looks for Serah, Noel and Mog.
- Additional weapons and gear.
- Bonus story episodes featuring other heroes.
An honest note: not all console DLC made it to PC. Some content — chiefly crossover costumes (for example, themed after other well-known franchises) — was left out of the Steam version due to licensing restrictions. That's a trait of the PC release itself, not of our gift.
How we deliver the gift
Delivery is via Steam Gift. You provide your friend-invite link and your account region, place the order — then our bot adds itself to your friends and sends the gift. It usually takes a couple of minutes. You don't need to accept the friend request: after delivery the bot automatically leaves your friends list.
Steam Guard is not required to receive the gift — it can be sent to an account without it. The only requirement on Steam's side is that your profile settings allow friend requests.
Gift region: RU/IN/CIS
The gift is tied to the RU/IN/CIS region (Russia, India and CIS countries). This means your Steam account region must fall within that list and match the gift region — otherwise Steam simply won't let you accept it. If your account is registered in another region, the gift won't go through, so check your region in advance.
One more key condition
FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 must not already be in the library of the account you're ordering the gift for. Steam won't let you accept a gift for a game you already own — that's the single most common reason a gift fails to go through. If you already have it, order it for a different account.
Where to start in the series
XIII-2 is the middle of the Lightning Saga trilogy. If you love this universe, check out the related entries too: FINAL FANTASY XIII, where Lightning and Serah's story begins, and the trilogy's finale LIGHTNING RETURNS: FINAL FANTASY XIII. Fans of classic Square Enix JRPGs should also look at FINAL FANTASY TYPE-0 HD.
The short version of buying
You get the full FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 for Steam as a gift to your account, with everything included in the PC version. The main thing is to check two points beforehand: your account region is within RU/IN/CIS, and the game isn't already in your library. Then delivery goes smoothly, and all that's left is to accept the gift and dive into a journey through time.
