FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE โ a Steam gift of Square Enix's landmark jRPG
FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE is the HD re-release of one of the boldest entries in the series, launched on Steam on 1 February 2018 under the Square Enix label (with HD work handled by Virtuos). The 2006 original earned fame for its unconventional combat and near-political plot, while the Zodiac edition finally added what fans waited years for: the job system, speed-up and a re-orchestrated score. Here you get it as a Steam gift: our bot sends the game to your account via an invite link, you accept the gift, and a full copy lands in your library. No codes to type by hand, and we never ask for access to your account or log into it.
Ivalice, warring empires and a throneless princess
The story unfolds in the world of Ivalice, where magic is part of everyday life and airships cross the skies. Two great powers, the Archadian and Rozarrian empires, wage an endless war, and the small kingdom of Dalmasca is caught between them. After Archadia annexes Dalmasca, Princess Ashe, the last heir to the throne, raises a resistance. It is a tale of politics, honour and the price of freedom โ noticeably more mature and Shakespearean than many of its siblings.
A party worth rooting for
At the centre is Vaan, a street youth from the royal city of Rabanastre who dreams of becoming a sky pirate. Around him gathers a colourful crew: his friend Penelo, the charming sky pirate Balthier and his viera partner Fran, the disgraced knight Basch, and Princess Ashe herself. Each carries a thread of the plot, and together they unravel the mysteries behind the Archadian invasion. The dialogue and staging hold up as grand drama.
Gambits โ combat you program
The battle system of FINAL FANTASY XII is built around gambits: you set your heroes' behaviour rules in advance โ who to heal, who to hit, when to buff. The party acts on that logic on its own while you step in at key moments. It is closer to conducting than to the usual menu-picking, and that is exactly why tacticians love XII. The Zodiac Age lets you keep three gambit sets and switch them to fit the situation.
Twelve jobs and license boards
Character growth is tied to the job system. Where the original had a single shared license board, the Zodiac version has twelve โ one per zodiac sign, each mapping to a profession from swordsman and monk to black and white mage. Every character can take two jobs, mixing skills and gear. That opens huge room for builds and makes replaying meaningful.
What is new in The Zodiac Age
The re-release is more than a sharper picture. The soundtrack is re-orchestrated, gameplay can be sped up 2x and 4x (a lifesaver for grinding and long travel), and there are New Game+ and New Game- modes, the latter denying experience for a real challenge. Trial Mode stands on its own: a hundred arenas in a row where you clear monsters for loot and money. The world is also full of mark hunts โ optional bosses worth straying from the main path for.
Accepting the FINAL FANTASY XII gift: three steps
The flow is simple. Open Steam, go to Friends โ Add a Friend and add our bot via the invite link we provide. The bot sends the gift, you click Accept, and FINAL FANTASY XII THE ZODIAC AGE appears in your library ready to launch. Steam Guard is not required to accept the gift.
Region = lot: watch the currency
The gift region is defined by the currency the lot is priced in. A gift is only accepted on an account of the matching region, so pick the lot that fits your Steam. If you do not yet have a matching option for your account region, a Steam gift card helps set up the wallet and region for the purchase.
Refunds: region mismatch or already owned
We are upfront about the edge cases. If the region does not match and the gift will not be accepted, the amount returns to your store balance. The same goes if FINAL FANTASY XII is already on the account: Steam blocks the duplicate and the money comes back to your balance. Nobody ends up out of pocket โ you simply pick the correct lot.
How long the journey runs and why to return
The main story of FINAL FANTASY XII is dozens of hours across a vast Ivalice: the deserts around Rabanastre, ruins, temples and flying fortresses. The world rewards exploration โ there are hidden espers (summonable beings), rare chains of mark hunts, and legendary weapons for which fans plot entire routes. The job system and New Game+ give a solid reason to run the game again with a completely different party than the first time. The speed-up makes those repeat runs comfortable rather than tiring.
The official Steam version: what it actually gives you
You get the very copy sold on Steam directly: cloud saves, achievements, trading cards, and support for gamepad and keyboard-and-mouse. Once the gift is accepted, the game stays on your account for good and updates normally through Steam. That is a key difference from dubious third-party builds โ everything here is legal and free of activation gymnastics: the gift is accepted, the copy is tied to you.
Who this Ivalice is for and why buying here pays off
The Zodiac Age is a must-have for fans of big story-driven RPGs and tactical combat. If sprawling RPG adventures like Baldur's Gate 3 are your thing but you crave classic Japanese scope with airships and courtly intrigue, this is your pick. Here you get the official Steam version as a cheaper gift, with no account access handed over and no mandatory registration: place the order, add the bot, accept the gift. Delivery usually goes through quickly; if any questions come up, support is around and handles them promptly, and disputes over region or duplicates are closed with a refund to your balance.
