What Ivalice Chronicles is about

The story unfolds in the kingdom of Ivalice, torn apart by the War of the Lions — a struggle between noble houses for the throne. You follow Ramza Beoulve, a young knight who watches honeyed talk of honor give way to intrigue, betrayal and the blood of common people. This is no bright fairy tale of heroes: it's a story about class inequality, the manipulation of faith and the price paid for power. How Final Fantasy Tactics plays

Battles are turn-based and take place on three-dimensional isometric maps where elevation, positioning and attack direction all matter. The heart of the game is the Job System: knights, mages, archers, monks, and then dozens of advanced classes that unlock as you level up. Characters learn abilities you can mix across jobs, so there's no single "correct" build — you assemble a party that fits your style. It asks you to think as much as to fight, and smart positioning before a battle often decides the outcome in advance.

Two modes: Enhanced and Classic

What's new in The Ivalice Chronicles

The remaster respects the original while making it comfortable for a modern player. Key improvements include: updated sprites, backgrounds and effects that keep the recognizable look; full voice acting for key scenes; a reworked script that brings back original names and terminology; an improved interface and clearer prompts; smoother party management. Standard vs Deluxe: which edition to pick

Two editions are available in the catalog, and both contain the full game with the complete campaign:

This is the Steam PC version for Windows. Supported languages are English, French, German, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese and Korean. There is no official Russian localization — worth noting if a native-language interface and text matter to you. Full voice acting for key scenes is available in English and Japanese.

How the game arrives as a Steam gift
