Farming Simulator 17 as a Steam gift โ your own farm with real machinery
Farming Simulator 17 is a farming-management sim by Swiss studio GIANTS Software, released on PC via Steam on October 24, 2016. Despite the โnicheโ name, the series has long been a cult favorite: behind its modest looks sits a deep management loop that can swallow hundreds of hours. There are no chases or shootouts here โ just fields, machinery, weather, a market, and your call on where to spend what you earn. With us you get the game as a Steam gift: a bot sends it to you right inside Steam, and once accepted it stays in your library forever as a real, owned purchase โ no subscriptions, no third-party launcher.
What the game is and why it's so addictive
In Farming Simulator 17 you run your own farm: plow and cultivate fields, sow wheat, barley, canola, sunflowers, soybeans, potatoes and sugar beet, wait for crops to ripen and harvest them with combines. Then comes selling on a dynamic market where prices swing, so it often pays to hold your harvest and wait for the right moment rather than dump it all at once. Alongside crops you can raise livestock: cows give milk, sheep give wool, pigs grow for sale and chickens lay eggs. Your earnings go into new machinery, land and buildings โ and the farm grows from a couple of tractors into a sprawling agribusiness.
Real machinery from over 100 brands
The series' pride is its licensed farming equipment from real manufacturers. Farming Simulator 17 features over 250 machines and tools from more than 75 brands: Challenger, Fendt, Massey Ferguson, Valtra, Krone, Lindner and many more. Tractors, combines, trailers, plows, seeders and sprayers are all modeled in detail with real names and specs. This entry introduced forestry transport and a brand-new vehicle class, plus pig farming, which earlier games in the series didn't have.
Two maps and your own pace
The base game ships with two large open maps โ a European landscape and a North American one, each with its own fields, forests, selling points and mood. How you play is up to you: methodically build the perfect estate, joyride machinery for fun, or harvest fields while a podcast plays. A dynamic day-night cycle, weather and a calm tempo make it a great way to unwind after a long day.
Co-op and mods
Farming Simulator 17 supports cooperative multiplayer โ you can run a farm with friends and split the work: one plows, another harvests, a third hauls grain to the silo. Another huge strength is its modding workshop: the community has released thousands of free add-ons, from new machinery and maps to entire gameplay systems, all installable in a couple of clicks. Mods are what give the series near-endless replayability.
Editions: what you actually get as a gift
Here you get the full base game of Farming Simulator 17 as a gift โ that's all you need to play the entire core farming loop. There's also a more complete Platinum Edition that includes the large Platinum Expansion with a new map and machinery; Steam also offers separate themed brand packs (Big Bud, KUHN, BiC City and others). All add-ons require the base game installed and simply expand your fleet and content. The card states exactly which edition arrives as a gift โ go by that when choosing.
How the Steam gift arrives
Delivery is as simple as it gets: our bot adds you as a friend on Steam, sends Farming Simulator 17 as a gift, and leaves once it's delivered. You don't need to send anything back or accept any trade offers โ a real gift arrives exactly as a Steam gift. Steam Guard is not required to receive it. Important: your Steam account region must match the gift's region, and this game must not already be in your library, otherwise the gift won't be accepted. Delivery usually takes a couple of minutes, but we don't promise hard deadlines โ expect โgenerally quickโ.
Is FS17 worth it in 2026
The game is a few years old, but as an entry point to the series it's still a great pick: it's lighter on hardware than the newest entries, it has a thriving modding community and a low barrier to entry. If you've never tried Farming Simulator and don't want to pay for the latest release right away, FS17 delivers the same addictive โplow, sow, harvest, sell, buy machineryโ loop without the extra complexity. The base game alone is good for dozens of hours, and mods stretch that almost endlessly. A gift here means truly owning the game on Steam โ no subscriptions, no third-party launcher.
