The Mojave Wasteland

The story unfolds in 2281, four years after the events of Fallout 3. This is no longer the grey Capital Wasteland but a sun-scorched Mojave: the neon Strip of New Vegas, farming settlements, military camps and ruins of the old world. Geckos, deathclaws and raiders roam the roads, and every turn hides its own story. The game runs on the Gamebryo engine, sharing roots with Fallout 3, but with a reworked V.A.T.S. targeting system, a Hardcore mode and a far richer role-playing core.

What's in the Ultimate Edition

If you pick Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition, you get the base game plus all the major add-on content in one package:

  • Dead Money — a trap at the Sierra Madre Casino: survive alongside three fellow captives and a deadly cloud.
  • Honest Hearts — an expedition into Zion National Park turns into a war of tribes and a clash between a missionary and the Burning Man.
  • Old World Blues — you're whisked to the Big MT crater, where a Think Tank of robotic scientists drags the Courier into a mad experiment.
  • Lonesome Road — Ulysses, the original Courier Six, calls you into the Divide to explain why he refused to deliver the platinum chip.
  • Gun Runners' Arsenal and Courier's Stash — packs of weapons, mods and starting gear.

Each of the four story add-ons raises the level cap by 5, so Ultimate pushes your character ceiling all the way to level 50.

Standard or Ultimate — which to choose

The Standard edition is the base game only, without story DLC — a great entry point if you want to play the main campaign first. Go for the Ultimate Edition if you want the full experience right away, with all four add-ons and the extended arsenal. Note that editions are tied to the gift region: pick the option that matches your Steam account region.

How Steam gift delivery works
