FAQ

Dome Keeper: defend the dome, dig the depths

Dome Keeper is a small but devilishly addictive game from German studio Bippinbits, released on September 27, 2022 under Raw Fury. It's hard to pin to one genre: a blend of tower defense, roguelite and compulsive mining. You're the keeper of a lone dome on a hostile planet, and the whole loop revolves around one ruthless choice โ€” dig or defend.

How it plays

Every run is a rhythm of two phases. Between attacks you descend into the mine beneath the dome, dig out iron, water and rare relics with your pickaxe (or drill, once upgraded) and haul the loot back up. Then the siren blares and aliens swarm from above. You drop the mining, rush to your weapon and beat back the wave. The deeper you dig and the more you upgrade, the longer you last. The catch: there's never enough time โ€” greed pulls you down while monsters claw at the surface.

Progression and replayability

Resources feed upgrades: faster movement, stronger weapons, new gadgets, helper drones, shields and automatic turrets. The cave layout is fresh every run, so you can't memorize a "correct" path. There are different modes and keepers (classes with distinct mechanics), plus adjustable difficulty โ€” from a relaxed sit-back run to a brutal one where a single mistake costs you the dome.

What you get

You're buying the full base version of Dome Keeper for PC on Steam. We deliver it as a Steam gift via a bot: you provide a friend invite link and your account region, pay, and the gift arrives (usually in a couple of minutes). It's a real owned copy of the game โ€” not a rental, not a subscription.

What's NOT included

Cosmetic gear packs (Engineer Gear Pack, Assessor Gear Pack) and the official soundtrack are separate DLC and are not part of the base version. The campaign, modes and all the core content are available right away.

How to receive the gift

The process is simple. At checkout you enter your Steam friend invite link (s.team/p/...) and your account region. Our bot adds itself to your friends, sends the gift, and leaves your friends list after delivery โ€” no need to accept the request manually. Steam Guard is not required. All you do is click "Accept Gift" in Steam, and Dome Keeper lands in your library.

Region and library notes

Steam will only accept the gift if your account region matches the gift region โ€” so enter your actual region. Second: the game must not already be in your library, or Steam won't let you accept the gift. That's the most common hiccup, so check ahead of time.

Keepers and modes

The dome isn't guarded by a faceless cursor but by a specific keeper, and your pick shapes the whole run. One leans on the cannon and direct combat, another on gadgets, drones and clever mine automation. There's a laid-back Relax mode for those who just want to dig without pressure, and harsher variants where waves come thicker and resources run thinner. A real treat is local two-player co-op on a single dome: one digs, the other holds the line, and coordination matters as much as upgrades.

Why it's so addictive

The secret of Dome Keeper is the "one more relic and back up" loop. You always feel you could dig a little deeper, grab one more gem, reach that vein โ€” but the siren is already wailing. This constant trade between greed and safety keeps you sharp the whole session, and short runs (from half an hour) make it a perfect "just one more" before bed. Minimalist pixel art and a dense sound design add to the lonely-on-an-alien-planet atmosphere.

Platform and launch

This is the Steam PC version. It runs great on Windows, as well as macOS and Linux, including Steam Deck โ€” the controls and UI scale suit handheld play well. Once you accept the gift, the game is tied to your account forever, with all future free updates from Bippinbits.

Who it's for

If you love short but dense sessions with risk and quick decisions, Dome Keeper will hook you. In spirit it sits near other indie hits that travel well as Steam gifts: try Vampire Survivors if you love "just one more run", Terraria for digging and crafting, or Stardew Valley for something calmer. Dome Keeper, though, is all about that tug-of-war between greed and fear.
