Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate — the Year 8 expansion as a Steam gift

Destiny 2 is Bungie's free-to-play co-op looter-shooter: six-player raids, fast-paced PvP, dozens of exotic weapons and an endless gear chase. The Edge of Fate is the major paid expansion that launched on July 15, 2025 and opens the game's eighth year — the Fate Saga. Here we sell that expansion as a Steam gift: you place the order and our bot delivers it straight to your Steam library.

What The Edge of Fate adds

The headline addition is Kepler, a new planet built around exploration, puzzles and hidden paths, much like Destiny's best dungeons. The story picks up after The Final Shape and pits Guardians against a fresh threat. Key content includes:

• a story campaign on the new planet Kepler;
• the Matterspark ability — bind to dark matter to squeeze through gaps and ram enemies;
• new traversal tech — the Relocator Cannon (teleport) and Mattermorph (reshape your surroundings);
• a brand-new raid and a new dungeon with unique rewards;
• fresh PvP maps;
• a reworked tiered weapon and armor system (tiers 1–5).

The expansion launched Season: Reclamation, and the big Ash & Iron update followed in fall 2025 — so Year 8 is stuffed with content, all of it durable and available after purchase.

Important: this is an expansion, not the whole game

The Edge of Fate requires base Destiny 2, which is free to download. Before redeeming the gift, simply install Destiny 2 from Steam — the expansion stacks on top of it and unlocks the new planet, campaign and activities. There's no separate full game in this product: you're getting the Year 8 expansion itself.

How the editions differ

The expansion comes in standard and upgraded versions. The base edition unlocks the campaign, Kepler and the seasonal content. Deluxe versions additionally include a Dungeon Key — access to the season's dungeons — plus cosmetics. In this product you get exactly the version named on the listing, so check the item name before paying.

How we deliver the gift

Delivery runs through Steam Gift. At checkout you provide your friend invite link (s.team/p/...) and your Steam account region. Region and account requirements

Because this is a Steam gift, Steam's rule applies: your account region must match the gift region, otherwise Steam won't let you accept it. So enter your real region at checkout. The second key condition is that the account must not already own this expansion — Steam rejects a duplicate gift on owned content. Base free Destiny 2, on the other hand, should already be installed.

The core loop: why players keep coming back

At its heart Destiny 2 is kill, loot, grow stronger. You run patrols, Strikes, raids and dungeons, chase weapons and armor with the perks you want, and craft builds around your class — Titan, Hunter or Warlock — and a subclass: Solar, Void, Arc, Stasis or Strand. The Edge of Fate feeds this loop a new planet and a refreshed item-tier system, so even veterans have fresh things to farm while newcomers get a clean entry point into Year 8.

PvE and PvP: where your new gear goes

The co-op side is the campaign, Strikes, seasonal activities and the expansion's hardcore raid and dungeon, where the best rewards drop. The competitive side is the Crucible with new maps, Gambit and live events. Gear from The Edge of Fate works across every mode, so the new planet Kepler quickly becomes your launchpad for gearing up toward any content.

Running it on PC and Steam Deck

The gift arrives in Steam, so Destiny 2 with the expansion runs on any Steam PC. On Steam Deck the game works but needs some manual setup and a stable connection — it's always-online with no offline mode. The expansion doesn't change the base game's system requirements.
