Dead Island takes a classic holiday and flips it on its head: you're one of the few who are immune, so cleaning up this nightmare is on you. Everything here revolves around melee — paddles, machetes, pipes and improvised clubs break apart in your hands, which makes crafting and repairing weapons as much a part of survival as the fights themselves. Definitive Edition — the remaster of the first game

Definitive Edition is the original 2011 Dead Island rebuilt on the Chrome Engine 6: sharper textures, new lighting, a one-punch mode and throwables (Molotovs, grenades) that no longer take up weapon slots. It's set on Banoi island, and you play one of four survivors — rapper Sam B, bodyguard Xian Mei, former athlete Logan and fighter Purna, each leaning toward different weapon types. The base game and all of its story add-ons (the Ryder White campaign and Bloodbath Arena) are already in the key — nothing extra to buy.

Riptide Definitive Edition — the sequel on Palanai island

Riptide picks up where the first game ended and moves the survivors to the flooded island of Palanai. Beyond the remaster treatment, it adds a new hero, John Morgan, who focuses on hand-to-hand combat, hub-defense missions against waves of the infected, and boat travel across flooded areas. Like Definitive Edition, this one is built “all-in”: the base Riptide and its full set of add-ons are already inside.

Definitive Collection — both games at once

If you want the whole classic Dead Island run in one go, this is your pick. Definitive Collection bundles Definitive Edition and Riptide Definitive Edition into a single key and throws in the Retro Revenge bonus. It's the most efficient way to cover both games instead of grabbing them separately.

Retro Revenge — a 16-bit bonus, not the full game

Retro Revenge deserves its own note, because it's easy to mistake for the actual game. It's a small 16-bit beat-em-up in the spirit of '90s arcades: you move sideways, smash zombies and gangs, chase down the guys who stole your cat Rick, and rack up score and combos for a spot on the leaderboard. Fun for an evening, but it's a bonus mini-game from the Definitive Collection, not a full Dead Island. In our stock this key is for the CIS region — that's why it sits in a separate “Retro bonus” tab, so nobody grabs it instead of the big game by accident.

Why the gameplay hooks you

The core appeal of Dead Island is the sense of weight behind every swing. Weapons here are consumables: bats go dull, machetes bend, so you're constantly hunting for workbenches to repair and mod your gear — nailing planks together, running current through a blade.
